Yesterday, the news circulated fast:
The trademark Sony filed for The Last Guardian had expired .
Now, however, Sony confirmed to GameSpot that this was due to an administrative error and in truth, the game is still in development. Well, I suppose. But the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office sent Sony a notice last July , telling them they needed to extend the Guardian trademark. So this is an "administrative error" that spans over seven months…? It's just a little difficult to believe, especially after so many years of false promises.
Thing is, we've still seen nothing. And I mean nothing . Since its initial unveiling, this project has gone off the tracks seemingly countless times and we've heard the "it's still in development" response over and over. At this point, I wonder if gamers even care . Do you?
Related Game(s): The Last Guardian
As I have been saying for years about this title – I'll believe it when I see it on shop display.
Until then, I consider the project abandoned. However, if the project regains momentum like Final Fantasy XV has then sure, i'll pay attention, until that day though, it's finished.
what would they have to gain by lying about games cancellation? I mean you tell me it isnt cancelled (when I originally thought it was) so I get happy… then 6+ months later you announce it actually IS cancelled? How does that sound better than just outright sayings its cancelled so we can forget about it now? lol
whoopie i guess
As far I'm concerned this game is canceled until Sony shows us otherwise
well heres wandering what sonys gunna do with the game maybe a rename who knows its its even mre up in the air than before didn't see that coming
happy gaming
I had a feeling something like this would happen to give everyone a small glimmer of hope still. I swear Sony's just messing with us for some reason. It's been cancelled for years but they keep hope alive as payback for some slight the gaming community did to them years back. But if DNF came out, anything is possible. I'm keeping a small coma candle lit in my heart.

case in point, obviously $ony has no respect for their fans if they expect them to believe this sh*t!
What's more sad is that this title was pushed as an example of how amazing the PS3 is and now they can't even give definitive information on it for the PS3's successor.
Big surprise aka NO surprise; no wonder. Hello $20 on store shelves upon release(?).
