Ben-DutkaWe all knew a fresh Call of Duty was coming this year. A new one comes every year.
But now we've got a few baseline details to go along with it: Activision has announced that the new CoD will be an "exciting new game" from Black Ops developer Treyarch.
The publisher wouldn't confirm that the new project is Black Ops 3 ; it's hard to predict at this point. Don't forget that Sledgehammer Games delivered a new entry in the series – Advanced Warfare – last year and it turned out to be quite successful. Also, bear in mind that this is part of Activision's new three-year development plan for each new CoD; Treyarch's last game was 2012's Black Ops 2 so they'll have three full years for the new effort.
Oh, and Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg also confirmed that the vaunted franchise in question has passed $1 billion in sales. So why stop now?

I havnt been impressed with any of Treyarchs efforts except for W@W. Otherwise everything felt like they were trying to copy everything IW did in a different setting.
i actually like treyarchs games better than IW. w@w was pretty badass and then blops1 was pretty good as well imo. after cod:mw, iw went downhill.
It's about time! The last one feels so dated you know. Having been out for only 3 months and all.
What new gimmick will they add this time around. Alien invasion, half man half machine, bionic powers, jet packs, a gun that shoots popcorn, crackhead zombies?
Man I can't wait. Is it November yet? This franchise needs an enema.
I'll just stick to my rule – don't buy a game that comes out evey year. So far I'm happy and I'll just leave it like that.
i think the name is always anyone guess but what the game will be is the same as it always is but weither they have the exo suits in all the games now is also another question but whatever i'l be interesting to see the details as they come
