It's already proving to be a polarizing game.
Final Fantasy XV is tentatively scheduled to arrive later this year and we wanted to know: How excited are you?
Well, according to the results of our latest poll, the community is split down the middle. About half say they're totally stoked or at least mildly interested, while the other half says they couldn't care in the least or they're indifferent. We don't really see it as a role-playing game so our guess is that RPG fans will be disappointed, and we're fairly certain that long-time followers aren't all that enamored, either. On the other hand, there are many who are willing to hold out hope…though we're not sure why, given Square Enix's recent track record with the once-legendary franchise.
This week, what do you think of Dying Light ? It'll be on store shelves in just a few days and it has a lot of potential; will this be one of 2015's first great games? Or will Techland's effort be just another ho-hum zombie slasher?
Related Game(s): Final Fantasy XV
I have said it before FF needs to be put to rest!
That is on the same level as saying Mario, Zelda, Call of Duty, etc. needs to be put to rest.
It's a franchise that's been around since 1988. It doesn't just go away because of 2 bad entries. Especially when one isn't proven yet and the other wasn't even bad.
3 bad entries
I am not hyped for Final Fantasy XV yet, as I simply don't feel it will arrive in 2015. The game looks sensation and I will be buying it day-1 without question. But it still feels very far off from release – Summer 2016 maybe?
But I genuinely have been thrilled each time I have seen the game. ever since it has changed to XV the games development has been speeding ahead. I love the notion of the roadtrip styled adventure – the key word being 'Adventure', something a lot of RPG's are forgetting these days. The action based combat is a win with me, we're never going to get turn based combat again, so you might as well get over that – Though I would welcome a combat system similar to Xenoblade of course.
I think my concern at the moment is the games 'world map'. I hope it's not just a land. I want seperate continents like on previous FF games. Even FFX, which didnt have the traditional world map, had sections where you went overseas by boat having continents in the world makes the game world feel much more grande. I don't want an Elder scrolls styled map where it is just landmass which is all together – My experience of Oblivion anyway.
Guys, please see the first 15 minutes gameplay video before you place your vote.
Tell me this doesn't look awesome:

Needless to say, I'm getting this immediately. I even sense a decent story in all this! A little early in the year 🙂 but this may be the Surprise of the year for me. And I am *no* zombie fan at all!

FF 15 is gonna suck.
They need to stop attaching the FF name to these games. Name it something else. Consumers tend to expect certain qualities where brands are concerned. The qualities of the recent FF games are soooo far from the past concepts that it felt weird and somehow didn't fit too well. I would have probably enjoyed FFXIII more if it was named Sanctuary or something along those lines, but it probably would not have sold as much. Greed tends to stifle creativity and innovation.
It won't be FF but I'm gonna buy it and play it for the weirdo Japanese style of skinny feminine men carrying huge weapons into a battle system. Love that sh*t.
oh yeah Dying Light, Dead Island on crack. I'm gonna wait for a price drop.
I have faith in FF15 because of the development team. It was being worked on by Nomura who is known for making great JRPGs, and a lot of people from his Kingdom Hearts team too.
If Nomura wasn't part of the project I would almost 100% be in the same category as not interested, but I am interested to see what this game is all about.
My only concern at the moment is that it was taken over by Tabata, and I'm not sure if he was responsible for the terrible character re dressing or not. If that was Nomuras choice meh, but if it was Tabatas I'm wondering what else me might have changed from Nomuras original vision.
the length of development worries me, 13-14 years usually means trouble.
@World, hahaha yeah it means we are going to either get another Duke Nukem forever, or something mind bogglingly awesome. Time will tell us the answer.
FFXV – Finally Finished 15th year.
