You have to wait a little longer than anticipated but at least now you've got a date.
Today, Bethesda has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 9. Furthermore, the publisher revealed the MMO would no longer require a monthly subscription.
This new version will feature all the content from the original game plus updates and content additions, "including the exciting new Justice and Champion systems." A one-off payment for the game is needed but beyond that, online play will not be restricted to only those who pay on a monthly basis. As for PC players, Tamriel Unlimited will go live on March 17 and players will automatically shift over.
Now, if you want to maintain your paid subscription, you can. Doing so means you're a member of "ESO Plus," which is the premium service. This features: "exclusive in-game bonuses, a monthly allotment of Crowns to use in the store and access to all DLC game packs while a member."
So, console players, are you excited?

Nice. Was hoping sooner than this but all things considered this is good news. No subscription? Awesome.
Not F8ckin payin to play Elder Scrolls every month. Come up with a new Fallout then a new Elder Scrolls, save this trash for the online lovers.

Clam down i guess you miss the part about there not being a monthly cost, only if you want eso plus -_-
Anywho i cant wait 🙂
Now you don't have to pay to play!
Someone failed to read the article.
You always pay in the end my friends.
Pretty stoked about this.
I've been wanting to try this, but I'm not a fan of paying continually to play a game. I lose interest in mmo's after awhile, or after another game catches my interest.
F2P though? I'll give it a go.
I am stoked about this. I started eso when it first came out and loved it, but for the last six months I've been so busy that I haven't had enough time to play it to make it worth the cost. Now I'll be able to play again, even if it is only a few hours a month.
This game felt like a Cash grab to me. Mounts are waaaaaaay too expensive, the loot system was messed up when I played it(in beta mind you) and there just felt like a lot of running around.
However with no monthly fee this could be interesting to play on the consoles.
I just hope they balanced it because as of right now there are far better mmos on the market free to play or otherwise.
FF14 a Realm reborn is actually fantastic, you can play it just for the story which is really well done. Yes it has a monthly fee but it is far more enjoyable than ESO was for me.
Agreed
I liked FF14. I felt it was really good. Then the map became a hindrance and I stopped playing. The ES games are more my style as far as compass and maps go. I don't like spending to much time plotting my adventure. I just want to get there haha.
Anyways that's a lame excuse to stop playing but it really did hinder my experience as do the loading times in GTA:O. Some things just bother me.

I gave up of FF14 due to the fact I had to pay for it every month. I always felt like they created the systems in place to force me to keep renewing my subscription. 3 months was more than enough for me.
Did the PVP mounts not carry over into the main game? When you entered Cyrodiil and finished the tutorial you could buy a a basic mount for incredibly cheap. My beta account got glitched and stuck in Cyrodiil so I wasn't able to check if they did carry over or not. Seems stupid that they wouldn't.
Bigrailer, get ready for a lot of running around. There is a lot of empty space in ESO. Its not bad by any means but you end up running around a lot.
Shauneepeak, The cheapest horse you can get is 17500 gold if you don't buy the special edition. If you buy the collectors edition you get a decent horse for like 1 gold. I don't know of the PVP mount you talk about but I never found a horse for very cheap in the beta.
@Bigrailer
What do you mean about the maps being a hindrance?
I actually really like FFXIV, but I've taken an unintended hiatus for a little over a month now. Just playing some other things. I'm currently trying to decide if I want to let it die or get back into it.
Yeah…this is very midly tempting to partake in. A friend and myself are debating on this because its so tempting but…
i've already decide a long time ago after the pc release and review that i didn't think it was going to get it and i still dont
happy gaming
Too bad the game just isn't very good to begin with. There's a reason it went F2P so soon.
After reading the comments I'm not so sure. I assumed this would be Skyrim Online (which would get my money asap). Is it not? Skyrim had vast expanses of land but nothing I'd call barren (ala The Crew). I would have fun just walking "from New York to California" in Skyrim and finding whatever I found. I have over 200 hours in and I'm still not even halfway thru the story mode.
I doubt I'd spend $60 on it now tho from what you guys are saying, maybe $40.
This sounds like it might be great to play but i am sort of weary that the online wont last more than a couple of years at best since its free subscription. sony has a habit of shutting down user favorites like the at home stuff.
