After the music/rhythm industry crashed during the last generation (going from being worth $2 billion in 2009 to a mere $350 million a few years later), once-popular franchises like Rock Band were forced to take a break.
Guess everyone got tired of the plastic instrument craze, along with the constant need to buy new equipment. But Harmonix has always said that Rock Band isn't gone; it's just on hiatus, and maybe now's the time to talk about a new entry: As posted at the Rock Band Twitter page , the developers want fans to fill out a survey, which leads one to believe…well, it's obvious what we think, isn't it?
If you're interested, go ahead and fill out that survey . Personally, I'm much more amped about Amplitude despite the recent delay .
The best game franchise of the last decade making a return? Sign me up.
I hope this time around every instrument has cross platform compatibility.
This was the biggest reason it died out.
I had PS3 drums a friend had Wii guitars. I wasn't going to shell out more cash to buy another set of drums to play somebody else's game.
Good idea. I wish they would have left a box to add comments in the survey so I could have said this.

maybe its time for it to return after it took a break to calm down for a few years

id love to see the genres return, id prefer guitar hero though rather than rock band.
I've always preferred its layout, its always had the better songs, and its far more challenging.
amazes me how you can get 5 stars on expert difficulty on a song in RB but then play the exact same song in GH on the exact same difficulty and epicly fail within the first 10 seconds!
i mean yea different games will have different ways of doing things and difficulties, but come on there shouldn't be THAT much of a difference!
