Sony Santa Monica seems to be jumping the gun a lot recently.
First, they sort of revealed a new God of War for PlayStation 4 on Twitter but the Tweet subsequently disappeared. Then, they make mention of another PlayStation Experience and that disappears, too.
The trend, as spotted by DualShockers , implies that the team keeps saying things they shouldn't. The most recent example involved the following quote posted in a blog update:
"And while I’m sure the PlayStation Experience will be back for Round 2 sometime late next year, we expect that Santa Monica Studio will play a significant role in it yet again.""
That doesn't mean much but it still dropped off the face of the planet. I suppose Sony just didn't want anyone talking about another PlayStation Experience just yet (maybe they're not sure they'll do it again), or maybe the Santa Monica crew wasn't really sure they'd be featured at the event. All of this indicates that the announcement of a new God of War might be farther off than any of us would like…
A reboot of god of war would suck, i mean the story is already so great, as much as i love the entire series, each and every one of the games i just can't see where else they can take the story after that ending in god of war 3
Sony isn't dumb enough to release another GOW based in the same realm/Kratos. People would be on both sides of the fence of "We want new!" and "We want the same!"
GOW will most definitely have a different protagonist with a new setting therefore it won't be called GOW 4. I could be wrong, but after seeing Demons Souls 2 become Bloodborne, its clear Sony is a fan of new = better.
still waiting for my Vita exclusive GoW experience.
I really can't see GoW without Kratos. Talk about some freaking huge shoes to fill.
Hard to see gow without kratos, but the series does need a reboot after the bad story in gow3.
really? i was the only one really underwelmed by 3?
I hate the whole series, but I don't normally make mention of it since it's obviously a good game. I think generally speaking, most people seem to have really enjoyed GoW3.
yeah a new GoW hint could quite possibily be in there but as for the PSexperience round 2 i'm not sure sony would nessecarily want the expense in the marketing budget every year but it would be an nice offering
happy gaming
"…we expect that Santa Monica Studio will play a significant role in it yet again"
Say what? I didn't see them playing any significant role the first time around?? I don't know what's going on with Sony Santa Monica, it seems they've gone from being one of Sony's top developers to being side-kick indie game helpers…
