Dragon’s Dogma Online Trademarks Keep Popping Up

Earlier this month, gamers located a European trademark for "Dragon's Dogma Online," filed by publisher Capcom.

Now, as spotted by DualShockers , the same trademark has been filed for registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, along with its Japanese equivalent.

What's it mean? Well, the title is pretty self-explanatory but Capcom has offered no details on the project. We do know that Japanese developers and publishers have been looking to embrace more online and multiplayer facets these days (the upcoming Deep Down is an example) so an online version of the successful Dragon's Dogma isn't out of the question.

If you missed it, feel free to read our review . It's a really solid game that might work well in an MMO format.

Dragons Dogma was a good game that has great room for improvement. I hope the game makes the same leap in quality and content that Dragon Age made.

I got into Dragon's Dogma too late last gen. All of the followers or whatever they are called were worth too many rift points…or whatever those were called.

Still a really good game all around though. I'd love to get this day 1, so I can be more active in the community this time out.

I really loved Dragons Dogma. It was challenging, and had such a weird cool world to explore.

If they tweaked certain elements I think they could have a really solid franchise. I don't want it easier, but maybe for the noobs they could put in fast travel or something, I heard that was most peoples complaints. Too big a world and you had to run everywhere, which was something I actually loved.

An MMO could work with the way the classes were set up, but is it going to be a real MMO or an instanced based MMO like Monster Hunter?

yeah the lack of fast travel was stupid, they tried to remedy it by giving you an endless return crystal in Dark Arisen.

Running all the way across the world for my next mission? Ain't nobody got time fo that!

The problem wasn't so much having to run everywhere as it was having to do so over and over again. The first time was generally really fun and adventurous. Subsequent trips just felt kind of repetitive. The game should've been structured in a way that doesn't have you running back and forth from gran soren ao much.

I agree, they should have had it so once you went to a place you could fast travel to key locations around that place or something, for free.

I see what they were going for by making fast travel really limiting but still, it would have had broader appeal.

I still think no one has done big bosses as good as dragons dogma except for shadows of the colossus but that was that games main thing 😛

I hope the sequel isn't an online only type game and this is just a mode or something as an aside like metal gear online. Dragon's Dogma could be great if they ditched the 2D interactions, weave a story into it, and have actual towns and castles and such that aren't worthlessly drab and boring. Otherwise the world and dungeons and climbing and combat were all greatness. PS4 could make it smooth.

Hm, I guess the game could do pretty well as an mmo. I just hope they don't scrap the pawn system in favor of multiplayer. A couple more unique epic bosses like the dragon would be nice too. Something slightly more SotC.

Ok. First off there was fast travel there. You just had to earn the crystals to do it. Second off, this game is hands down one of the best action rpgs ever made.

I loved it back then and will love it when it comes online.

I have wanted this multiplayer for a long long time.

I agree, it is a really under rated game.

The whole time I was playing I was just so wanting it to have co op. The way classes work together is awesome.

Imagine throwing your buddy on a griffins back in the middle of a fight, that would be so awesome.

One of the best rpgs of 2012 and very underrated game in my opinion. This is sad news to me if they're just making it into a crappy online game without any single player content. Also the soundtrack is amazing.
