The holidays are just about over and a "Flash Sale" is usually pretty quick, simply by definition.
But the recent PlayStation Network woes means you've got more time to take advantage of some great game deals.
As announced over at the PlayStation Blog , the Store's Flash Sale will be extended through 12 p.m. PST on December 31, 2014, and the Holiday Sale now goes through 12 p.m. PST on January 6, 2015. Great news, because it means you can get awesome titles like Dragon Age: Inquisition , Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor , Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare , Destiny , Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition , and Alien: Isolation at a discounted price.
Sony has been battling to keep the PSN up and running ever since the DDoS attacks on Christmas Eve and service hasn't returned to 100% .
Dang, my entitled self hoped we'd get free games like last time they got hacked 🙂
I still have ACU sitting in the plastic so no need to get games at the moment.
I will patiently wait for a sale so that I get Dragon Age for $30 just like I did with Unity.
Call me cheap but saving money is the way to go.
I think we are in the best position to save money these recent years. Now you can expect most games except the ones from Activision to drop $20 within a month or two from release.
I hate to say but I have not been over impressed with the sales on PSN. A number of the games they have on sale, digital only excepeted, I can find cheaper up here. Lots of competition. And the game I am interested have not been on the the sales list this xmas. I am still on my PS3 doing a bit of old game catchup and holding off on games like Dragon Age, etc., until I get a PS4 hopefully sometime next year when or after The Order comes out… possibly.
Keep playing!
Anyway,
The Golden Week sale they had earlier this year was amazing many Niche Japanese titles that are a super pain to find in stores or never go on sale on the PSN were on sale had huge discounts. Really hope they have one again next year.
Same here. Found Watchdogs for $20 on Amazon. The sale price on PSN was like $44 or something. Inflated prices coupled with the fact your games will forever be tied to servers that can be brought down will keep physical games the preferred way to buy for most.
This is true, the hope for them is to click on people's "right now" instincts before they care to do any research. And most do no research.
I just think it sucks that if you started your game physical, you can't proceed with your save game to a digital game. At least I couldn't in Injustice. It kept the digital save separate from the physical.
That's annoying for me because I play a lot of games from Gamefly.
EDIT: for instance this Dragon Age PSN sale doesn't tempt me because I believe I would have to restart the game from scratch if I got it.
EDIT2: also, last gen I would offload some physical games when they hit as PS+ freebies. This gen I have to think twice about losing all my progress to trade up.

oh, and I prefer fighters or arcade style games as digital. The pick-up and play accessibility is too nice.
Other games like TLoU are more the sort I play once or twice and then it collects dust on the shelf. No use keeping a big ~50gb game like that hanging out on my hard drive.
Cool. But I hope the regular Tuesday PSN update doesn't get postponed. It's like a weekly highlight of mine
Lol me too. Tuesday's(PSN) and Thursday's(Nintendo eShop).
I can't wait until January's BIG Tuesday reveal so I can be disappointed by more indie games nobody cares about.
I think Sony already revealed that Infamous First Light is part of next months lineup. I'm excited about that.
It doesn't take long for my PS+ membership to pay for itself.

I got MGS: GZ, I thought that was a good deal not to pass up, so.. yah.

howd it work out for ya?
I feel like that game has free PSN+ game written all over it. That or a freebie with a MGS5 pre-order.
I think you got a great deal on the MGSGZ. I bought it about a month ago for $20 and think it was worth it. In comparison, Now a days it's around $12 to see a two hour movie. Even though mgs game is short, I definitely put over 20 hours in to it. Great preview of what is to come. Enjoy. I wish I would have waited and paid $7. I did buy ac black flag and walking dead. BTW, Acbf is awesome so far.
The transaction worked out smoothly, I transferred funds into my wallet using my cpu since it's quicker that way. Also to let u know, I have the PS3 version since I don't have a PS4 yet. I have the MGS: HD collection borrowed from my cousin. I have played the PS1 and all the PS2 MGS games but finally going to be able to start playing Peace Walker since I don't own a PSP. Just need to catch up on the other games before I start playing PW>GZ. AC: BF is also my list, just finished AC: 2 months ago (I heard Botherhood is good, need to own that to) so I'm steadily slow in the AC games.

They kind of go downhill after AC2 imo.
I too bought MGS:GZ for 7 bucks and beat the story part in about 2 hours. If I never play it again it will be worth it, but I plan on trying to complete the game 100% or close to it.
I wish you can transfer funds in 1 dollar increments, I just feel I like that option better.
or GTAV at $99 bucks!
bargain considering retailers are selling it for around 69…………
well thats atleast a nice gesture from sony
happy gaming
