As far as I'm concerned right now, Telltale Games can do anything .
The talented developer that loves to bring more of a narrative, artistic feel to some of the industry's top franchises, has selected its next target: Minecraft .
Yep, Telltale has announced a new episodic series based on Mojang's uber-popular building-block title. The game is officially called Minecraft: Story Mode — A Telltale Game Series and it will tell an original story fueled by "player choice." This is indeed a full standalone game and not a Minecraft expansion.
Said Telltale:
"Telltale's series will mix new characters with familiar themes, in an entirely original Minecraft experience, inspired by the Minecraft community and the game that continues to inspire a generation."
As we all know, Minecraft has a classic 8-bit-visual look, but Story Mode "won't look exactly" like that. It will, however, "feel authentic in its own special way" and that, we don't doubt. It'll be ready to go for consoles and PC some time next year. For examples of Telltale's prowess, check out the recently released Tales From the Borderlands and Game of Thrones . More great episodes to come for each!
