2014 may be remembered as the Year of the Delay.
For the most part, I don't complain. There are always plenty of great games to play and unless you've got an absurd amount of time on your hands, you can't hope to keep up.
Everyone's backlog is pretty hefty right about now, so even big delays don't bug me. The games will show up eventually and besides, we want the developers to get it right . That being said, some die-hard gamers can react really badly to delays, especially when it's for a game they desperately want. If there was one delay in 2014 that annoyed you above all others, which was it?
Even though it wasn't exactly official, we all thought The Order: 1886 would launch at the end of the year, but that didn't happen. And because it's obviously a ways off, even now, that may not go over well with anticipatory gamers. Then there's the loss of Turtle Rock Studios' promising shooter, Evolve , and another hot shooter, Battlefield: Hardline . Perhaps the biggest losses for 2014 were The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (just recently delayed again until May) and Batman: Arkham Knight (June). One of those might've ticked you off…
Speak up! Rant and rave, it's okay.
Don't know if it qualifies, but Driveclub for me. While it did release in 2014, it should've been delayed lol.
With my limited time in gaming I need at least two months for one game so the delays don't effect me as much. I know some people can handle as much as 5-10 titles a month so it would definitely affect those guys.
Would the gta online heists count as a 2013 delay or 2014 delay?
Nope, get over it.
It's gotta be The Order for me, with Arkham following right behind.
I'm honestly glad The Order got delayed, I've been pretty low on money myself. Haha
I'm starting to hate Rocksteady with all their teasers and previews. I mean, if they're going to take their sweet time releasing AK then the least they could do is keep their mouth shut.
Don't know… all it did was benefit me that all those games got delayed. There's no way I old play The Witcher and DA:I at the same time. I still need to get the latter, so yeah this is only a good hung for me.

Final Fantasy XV, 8 years of development and no end in sight.
only to be trolled in the end saying its gonna be renamed to something else (again) and that itll be released for ps5 (yes 5)
I don't know since they've renamed it XV development has heavily increased. I mean if we got a trailer with English voice actors they must be getting quite far into development – That's not a reason to get excited just yet though. I'm expecting it spring 2016 and as 2015 looks like a far better year for releases I don't mind that.
Yeah doesn't voice acting regionalisation (is this a word?) happen late in the development? I don't honestly remember but I thought it was like that.
yeah SE still does things backwards like that.
Many games often do voice overs quite early. Remember the original Assassin's Creed 2 ads? The Ezio they used in those ads wasn't the same voice that actually did his voice.
Why would anyone get "bugged" by delays when there's so many games to play?
Seriously go out and do stuff or play other games. I'm going to be honest — I was very excited for the Withcer 3 because I LOVE rpgs but l like to look at the bright side.
I have Far Cry 4 to finish, AC Unity which I will receiving in the mailbox tomorrow, Dragon Age Origins and Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 to buy and play.
I wouldn't even get to The Witcher 3 even if it released in February.

Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD ReMIX is bound to keep me busy until The Order 1886 and Final Fantasy: Type 0-HD so like you I feel no pressure or frustration from delays – though if Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain isn't out by June I will become impatient.
You and I think alike. Thumbs up.
(I meant to say Dragon Age Inquisition not Origins).
The Last Guardian?
Don't really care about delays tbh. Still playing GTA5 and will untill The Order / Bloodborne probably.
Besides, I just bought proper gaming laptop, so I need to spend time playing shit I missed too.
I'm not complaining at all. Delays give me a chance to catch up on my backlog, and since I only have roughly 5-9 hours of gaming per week to spare, I need all the time on this earth to catch up with my ridiculously huge list of games I want to finish, at least once.
Games I own and want I complete at least once include:
PS4:
Killzone Shadow Fall, Infamous Second Son, Lego Marvel, Injustice Gods Among Us, Last of Us + Left Behind (finished main game on PS3 last year), Child of Light, Shadow of Mordor and Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag.
Xbox One:
Halo Master Chief Collection, Destiny, Assassin's Creed Unity, GTA V, Sunset Overdrive, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare and Forza 5.
PS3:
Gran Turismo 6, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 remix, MGS HD Collection, Demon Souls and Ratchet and Clank Crack In Time.
360:
Halo Reach, Gears of War Judgement, Max Payne 3, Lost Odyssey, Burnout Revenge and SSX.
Vita:
Gravity Rush, LittleBig Planet Vita, Tearaway, Jak and Daxter trilogy, Sly trilogy, Virtua Tennis 4, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (never played this before, bought it last year for my Vita)
3DS:
Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D, Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Fire Emblem Awakening, Super Mario 3D Land
PC: (here we go…)
Elder Scrolls Skyrim, Aliens vs Predator, Bioshock, Batman Arkham Origins, Amnesia the dark descent, Borderlands 2, Broken Age, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Darksiders 2, C&C Red Alert 3, Dead Island, Deus Ex HR, DMC, Dishonored, Dragon Age Origins & DA2, Driver San Fran, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, Fallout 3, Half Life 2 + episodes, Hitman Absolution, Lego Lord of the Rings, Metro Last Light, Outlast, Red Faction Armageddon, Resident Evil Revelations, sleeping Dogs, Spec Ops The Line, the Walking Dead Season 2, State of Decay, The Witcher 2, The Wolf Among Us, Transistor, Xcom Enemy Unknown and Xmen Origins Wolverine.
To all the developers out there, from one core gamer to another, please take all the time you need to perfect your game. I have more than enough to keep me busy for several years!! I can wait for your game. It's not like I'm going to be bored with all these games anytime soon. Haha!
I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather wait for a well crafted game than a buggy mess that needs 10GB of updates to work. I am patient. Take your time developers. Us older gamers can be patient.
The delay that probably bugs me the most is the GTA5 delay, simply cause I so look forward to it.
Other than that I got tons, TONS to play. Heck I've not even started on Inquisition yet!
I'm trying to clear the decks, so to speak, before I receive Inquisition for Christmas next week. That's going to be my go-to for the cold months of winter, I have no doubt!
Yes exactly, me too!
I was a little disappointed that The Division was delayed. Their demo had me pumped to play!
But now, with so many games I have to finish, I'm OK with them delaying it and have it out when it's ready.
Planetside 2!
yeah um batman maybe but its not like i couldn't got any of them anyway but its alright for me cos i need more time to catch up with games already out anyway
happy gaming
