The Order: 1886 Trailer: What You Can’t See Is Terrifying

Any new footage for The Order: 1886 is appreciated.

The latest has plenty of atmosphere and is a bit more subtle; it hints at unknown nastiness lurking just around the corner. In addition to the game's standard third-person shooter formula, the developers have embraced a supernatural aura as well.

And don't forget that the game is set in an alternate reality; Victorian-era London that is more technologically advanced but ravaged by a sinister darkness. In a lot of ways, this new trailer also speaks to the game's thrilling suspense, almost as if developer Ready at Dawn also plans to implement minor survival/horror elements.

Check it out; it's well worth seeing:

Looks atmospheric, that's really all I can say.
I suspect this is like the first Dead Island trailers: Cinematic, but not really how the game turned out to be.

Time to show some actual ingame footage now, Sony. We're only a few months away from launch. Are you hiding something from us?

They've been showing gameplay footage here and there for nearly a year. The 15 minute video Temji is posting is just the latest.

I've missed that video.

Oh dear… QTEs and "go there, do this" puppetry on a string as far as the eye can see. "Thinking not allowed here". Looks like the graphics are nice, at least. All in all a typical traditional Sony exclusive.

Now, about that project Guerilla were working on…

AC Unity patch is now live. I assume you're partaking of AC Unity, Beam?
It allows for constraint-less roaming and climbing and tom foolery.

No AC:U for me yet, Temjin. I don't have a PS4 yet, so these days I'm doing all my gaming on my Linux desktop computer.

And, talking of linear games, these days I'm playing Metro 2033 Redux. And enjoying it! 🙂

Looks great. My only concern is I read they are using the same letterbox aspect ration as The Evil Within. I hope this isn't the case. I hated those black bars on the top and bottom of an already widescreen TV.

yea. it's formatted that way through the whole game. It gives it a more widescreen theatrical feel.

Which may be code for something*

*reduces pixels to be drawn on screen to help improve performance

It's a clever way of claiming it's 1080p when really it's not. 🙂
