Street Fighter V is one of the most anticipated titles on the horizon (even if it's still a ways off).
For a sneak peek at some very slick gameplay, check out this new video, which features nearly 7 minutes of a live competition.
Two franchise favorites are featured: It's Ryu vs. Chun Li and the latter combatant wins with a powerful, over-the-top flurry of kicks, which is, of course, her specialty. It's hardly a finalized version and there's no knowing when it'll finally arrive on PlayStation 4, but this early footage is pretty impressive. Fans of the genre should be encouraged by what they see here, right?
As we all know by now, SFV is only coming to PS4 and PC.

Damn Ruy got owned, but well the Chun Li player works on the game so he had a huge advantage, I have one complain I hated how that bowl of noodles was still on Chun Li head after she got hit.
The animations are excellent. Notice when they guard, they actually guard based on the point of impact. Dynamic!

thats the kind of thing I think of when I think next gen, simple stuff like that.
Indeed.
It looks pretty good, I presume the final release will have more fancy health bar designs. But I liked what I saw, breaking into different environments and fun gags being attached to these environments. It seems great…. but I just can't buy Street Fighter V day one knowing there will be re-releases afterwards.
Maybe they'll just upgrade it over time through paid updates much like they started to do towards the end of SFIV's life. Probably a better delivery system than releasing a whole new version.

It's not for you Vivi. Just buy the vanilla if you enjoy the franchise and never upgrade (if they even do them). You don't need the balances.
Yeah there will be a lot of changes since this is still Alpha gameplay
3:55. I see you Xbox 360.
Chun Li needs an introduction to Wang.
*Shadow Warrior gets to me*
The jungles are what impress me the most .Always hate when i kick/punch someone into the air and my jump kick for example during that time simply do nothing .
I know you could in 4 but it was very limited ( 1 reason i loved Juri ) .

Well yeah they weren't the focus of the game unlike Tekken's juggles. You have chars like Dudley who can juggle you from coast to coast.
Looks cool. I'll likely get it, maybe day one.
Is this game due out this year?
Good God no.
2018 or something like that, wait maybe 2016 actually. Its at least 2016 Temjin, I think that is what I read.
jeesh. this was not the game to show boat at 2014's PSX Event.
There's been a placeholder spotted around spring 2016. Can't imagine that it'll take that long to complete this game?
Contrary to my original impression, this game looks much better than SFIV. I love the pace and it seems like the animations are far more engaging across the board. Also, I wasn't a huge fan of cel-shading. Shame that the characters still look so bulky.
I'm so stoked for cross multiplayer that's all I think about 😀
This game was a huge moment during Capcom Cup. It was much more fun watching it live of course, haha. There's definitely a lot of different functions currently that people have noticed so far so definitely don't think of it as the same as SF4.
Also during capcom cup it was announced that Sony helped Capcom out financially by essentially making next year's capcom cup prize pool be 500,000$ through what I assume is sponsoring and things like that. So it's kind of easy to tell exactly why the game is on the console it's on.
