Big news if you're still a Final Fantasy fan. "Still" being the operative word, of course.
In a new post over at the PlayStation Blog , Square Enix unveiled the Collector's Edition for the upcoming Final Fantasy Type-0 for PlayStation 4.
It'll release on March 17 in North America and it'll retail for $100. Included in this premium bundle (set to be produced in "limited quantities") is a 200-page manga, an 80-page art book, the official game soundtrack, and a golden steelbook case. You even get a few Ace Cards for good measure. Furthermore, it was confirmed that the only way to play the Final Fantasy XV demo is to buy a copy of Type-0 . No, it doesn't have to be the Collector's Edition but it'll have to be a first-run copy.
Said Square Enix product marketing manager Scott Strichart:
"We're never going to release it as a stand-alone piece down the line. Secondly, it's intended to be a special gift for those of you who purchase early–the demo will be limited to the 'Day One' edition of the game, meaning that only the first shipment is going to have the demo in it.
So if the demo is something you think you might like, we highly encourage you to pre-order or to be quick about getting to the store on launch day, March 17th, 2015."
Previously, Square Enix said this playable FFXV demo will offer 3-4 hours of gameplay, depending on how you choose to explore the Duscae region. Here's hoping people like what they see.

I'm sure first run copies will still be around when the game drops to $20 some months later while FF15 remains in the dev pipeline.
EDIT: I'm also realizing FFVX will be the first flagship FF game since pre-FF3 (snes) that may never get played on my console.

i should clarify, FFIII was the earliest FF I actually played start to finish. Since that game I've played them all (excluding spin-offs or pseudo sequels)
I started but never finished FF (save file glitch made it basically impossible)
I started but never finished FFII (snes)
I haven't tried any other latter imports of like FF3 or 5 etc.

Probably getting the Collectors edition because I can't resist the urge to buy old Square games… And Type-o was one of the games I never got to play before FF13 released meaning it could be great AND free of lightning cameos.
Collection Edition or limited Edition whatever. The game bundles are often overrated to collect dust a few months after release.
Think about it how many people really look back to admire their old collectibles when new game titles and collection edition keep on releasing. It take up the unwanted spaces of your garage which adds no value over time unless it is plated with real gold.
Don't be fooled by the marketing gimmicks. You will be frustrated to clear off these dust when you do spring cleaning every year.
Actually yeah lol. I have only two collector's edition and it's silly that I don't have any proper way of displaying it. I mean what's the use of it if I'm just going to be storing them in my drawers or whatever. It really is taking up spaces I need for other things..
I have a few spots in my house where I can display this stuff, I would find spots too if I had none. Plus I dont buy every single collectors edition that comes out, that way when you do get one every so often it feels worth displaying.
well i was going to say that it was good they have a FFXV demo going that'll keep people going for a lil while
