Dying Light Running At 1080p/30FPS On PS4…For Now

It's an important question these days: What are the tech specs for a new game?

And when we say "tech specs," we're referring to the maximum resolution and frames per second. In the case of Techland's upcoming zombie adventure Dying Light , those numbers are 1080p and 30, respectively. Lead designer Maciej Binkowski said as much when responding to a fan on Ask.fm .

Last year, the developers said they were aiming for 1080p/60fps across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, but it seems they haven't been able to hit those plateaus…yet. In a statement to GameSpot , a Techland representative said the final numbers are subject to change:

"1080p/30 fps is what we have right now, it is what is constant, and what we're sure we can deliver in the final product. But the work is still ongoing, and even though we have no more than two weeks left, things can still change.

So even though the answer is accurate I would change the question–it's not what we target, it is what we will deliver 100 percent."

The rep added that it's "too early to tell" if 1080p/30FPS can be achieved across both PS4 and Xbox One. Guess we'll have to wait and see; during the first year of the new console race, the PS4 has better managed the higher numbers.

Devs need to stop doing this. When will they learn? Games attract so much less drama. Just show us images and be like "you'll find out!" No drama. Just content and pretty pictures to shut us up.

why show images?? itll only be bashed just like the "dev video clips/demos"

release the game instead for full review that way the public sees final product, not something almost done

Unlike video footage, images can be made possible without sacrificing the quality. Gaming magazines have always offered some visual insight.

Let's keep in mind that we do want to know it's being developed and typically want to have visual conformation.

so in other words, they are able to easily achieve 1080p/30 on ps4 but the xo is struggling so they have to sugar coat their words so they dont lose xo peeps. and in 2 weeks theyre gonna "try" to get it to 60fps? nope. theyre gonna release an almost finished product just bc the xo is lacking in hardware
