The PlayStation 4 is selling well and its first year has been a rip-roaring success…at least from a console war perspective.
But in terms of available software and games that show off the new system's power, the best days are yet to come. Sony UK boss Fergal Gara agrees with that assessment; in a recent IGN interview , he said the defining titles aren't yet here:
"I really believe it's year two when you tend to see those titles come through that start to define the whole generation. The best is yet to come on PS4. We've seen a brilliant start with the mega-franchises, like the FIFAs, Call of Duties, and the Assassin's Creeds, but we've also seen some strong new IPs launch–the likes of Destiny and Watch Dogs. But I think that the ones that are truly to define the generation are probably still to come, to be honest."
Gara referenced past PlayStation consoles as well. For instance, he reminds us that the original PlayStation console didn't get its first "truly memorable" game until 1996, after the system had been available for nearly two years. He added that it takes "some time for a platform to mature and for developers to make the best of it." Well, sure. Look at the end of the PS1, PS2 and PS3 life cycles; remember games like God of War and The Last Of Us ?
Now that AC Unity and Inquisition have landed in my lap I feel like greatness is here to stay.
Because those games are so huge by the time I'm done with them Order will be here and then Batman and more.
Tomorrow may be the big day folks. The day MS declares stateside victory over Sony for Nov….
and AC Unity has some awesome bugs. My wife spotted this cat tonight. I decided to try out the youtube share link stuff on PS4 and share it.
hehhe check this.

big day for what?
wailing and the gnashing of teeth.
They need to bring over Japanese games offensive to knuckleheads for more "greatness." I'm importing Oneechanbara for my PS4:

Great stuff. I played the hell out of Bikini Squad on the 360. If we're lucky, maybe Konami will trickle down some of that inevitable MGS5 cash and make another Rumble Roses.
The Last Guardian please…
haha. funny.
you know. that's the exact game the ps experience needed.
all it would've taken was that and everyone would've been singing the show praises.
…everyone but Kidpresentable =p

More words and hype and I can't play those.
For me next gen really begins with games like The Order 1886, The Division, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD & most of all Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. By mid-next year the console will finally feel worth buying through such titles.
Greatness still awaiting.
"The Best is yet to Come" is the name of the main theme for MGS circa 1998. You want to feel some chills? Try playing the crap out of that game when your 13 and then hearing the same theme song when you revisit the Shadow Moses island a decade plus later.
So yeah… Really can't wait for MGSV. That will be the "greatness" to me.
Whatever you say sony…
of course its yet to come, not a single big hit flagship playstation franchise has hit yet!
though the problem is how long do we have to wait for one?
and all this from the system which "was in developers hands FAR earlier than every other playstation".
and the system which "ps4 development is so much easier, so easy in fact its shaved a easy 2 years off knacks development!".
2 years hey?
sure, and pigs fly backwards while reciting when saints go marching in!
as usual, $ony let their flaps run far too much and its getting them into trouble!
For me true next gen [games not possible on the ps3] will start with the order, and also in 2015:the witcher3/Uncharted 4/no man's sky/Batman,
[and Bloodborne,not for me though]

I will wait and see what's cookin'.
yeah i'd say the best is yet to come for sure and some of the games coming next could be part of the first lot of games that we remeber for a long time to come we won't know yet but its surely possible 2015 could th 1st really great and memorable year for all the right reasons
happy gaming
Are we finally going to be able to media share/stream and store and play mp3/4's on our PS4!
