New Difficulty Options For Alien: Isolation

Maybe you thought the game was too hard…or maybe you think it's too easy.

Either way, developer Creative Assembly has you covered. As they just announced , new difficulty options have been added to Alien: Isolation .

Now, there's Novice and Nightmare options, which are pretty self-explanatory but here's the official description for each: In Nightmare, your motion tracker display has been damaged and your resources are even more limited than usual. Additionally, map systems are offline and the Alien is smarter.

"With an upgraded AI that has amplified its fatal hostility, every step you take may be your last. Our monster is more adaptive, learning from your tactics with chilling speed and with intensified senses that will give you no second chances…"

As for Novice, players will enjoy more resource and ammo and the Alien is a little more lame-brained. Technically, it's "more forgiving, more easily distracted, and less aggressive," so it's kinda like he's been given a tranquilizer or something. Take advantage if you're a bit of a pansy when it comes to such games.

Shame the Alien is the least of your problems in the game. The freaking Androids are the main threat and the alien isn't even in half the game. Hopefully this will be worth it to fans of the game though.

one thing i hate about todays difficulty system, why does the best AI have to be restricted to higher difficulties?
we really need dynamic difficulties or something so you can pick and choose what bits of what you want, for instance more ammo and more health from the lowest difficulty, but the smartest most aggressive AI.
seems like a broken system, making enemies tougher, and giving you less resources to deal with that.
its like saying you can take a multiplication exam and you get 2 hours to complete 10 questions, or you can take a calculus exam and get 1 hour to complete 20 questions.
the higher the requirements, the more resources you should have not the less!
