Hey, I didn't mind the ad. I think it was simple, direct and effective.
It's just an exciting phrase: "Greatness awaits."
Furthermore, I have absolutely no doubt that Sony will deliver the goods in 2015 and beyond. But if we're being brutally honest with ourselves, even the most ardent PlayStation follower has to admit that we are still waiting.
Sony has always defined their PlayStation brand with fantastic, next-level exclusives that make other consoles look downright archaic by comparison. Hell, just about any Uncharted in the previous generation was leaps and bounds ahead of most exclusives on other consoles. And of course, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is supposed to land next year, as is The Order: 1886 , Bloodborne , and a few others. We might learn about a few more at the PlayStation Experience later this week.
It's also great that PS4 has been home to better-performing multiplatform games thus far. That part is invaluable, especially when Xbox One isn't exactly coming strong with the exclusives, either. If it's a battle of multiplats (which the console war currently is, excepting Wii U) then PS4 still has the edge. But that doesn't exemplify "greatness," right? "Greatness" is yet to come and while it will come, it's not here yet . Let's just be grown up enough to admit it.
I have to disagree. There have been a number of great PS exclusives this year IMHO. Uncharted, Order 1886 and Bloodborne could be excellent in 2015. But ISS, MLB14, LBP3 and Driveclub were great games. Maybe not fantastic or excellent but great. Driveclub works fine in SP and always has. LBP3's bugs were smashed with the day one. It may be a little short but it's got excellent game play. So the new slogan should be excellence awaits.
+1 – I had a blast on PS4 in 2014, more fun than I had on PS3 in 2013. I'm very happy they've delivered. I think in modern society we've almost talked ourselves into being dissatisfied these days, even when there's no good reason to be :(.
Nope. Been enjoying the ps4. The greatness is here.
It definitely sat on idle. It wasn't due to lack of content. The stuff available didn't necessitate priority. So yeah, another new launch!
I agree 2014 was meh,i'm glad i waited till now to buy a ps4.Now i do'nt have to wait long for some true next gen games , febr.2015.
off topic,i hope that next fri/sa/su fallout 4 will be announced and that WITHOUT any kind of #$&%# mp.
"Greatness" is for me a term not reserved for exclusives. And as such I'd say greatness already has arrived with Inquisition. But that game stands pretty much alone if we ignore the remake of GTA5.
I disagree. I already have my greatness with PS4 from the day I bought it with tons of games. Exclusives will only deliver "uber greatness".
We got the best multiplats I reckon!
I'm more worried about my Dragon Age greatness now that the game has funneled me into siding with the Templars when I wanted to side with the Mages. This is potentially a very bad thing! It's 2 games now and I only got time for 1.
2015 will be the year which enhances the PS4. It's already offers the best experience for multi-platform games and in 2015 there are a ton of games to be released I can actually say I'm looking forward to. 1886 The Order, The Division, Evolve, Final Fantasy: Type-0 HD & of course Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which looks to be such a leap in gaming, much like how MGS2 was with its sheer diversity in gameplay.

i completely understand where youre coming from, but i have to admit my greatness already came and that no doubt more of it will come in 2015.
the games that did it for me this year are: destiny, resogun, transistor, cod aw, wolfenstein, watch dogs, and infamous (even though i didnt like those last 2 games at all, it showed me a glimpse of what other greatness awaits, in terms of graphics)
i havent played lbp3 yet which im sure will have kickass graphics. driveclub and the crew didnt cut it for me. DC with its horrendous server issues which is the only reason i was looking to play bc almost EVERY game has a SP mode, the obvious is what makes your game stand out and with DC, nothing, since its not working. the crew was a bit boring and repetitive, NFS meets…online MP? so yeah, project cars is the one im hoping will outdo these 2 up until gt7 comes out which prolly wont be until 2016, but who knows maybe well find out this week.
I have held off buying one until TPP is released. How much have I missed out on though?

From my viewpoint (it's all subjective anyways) "greatness" has arrived in the form of Destiny.
I know a lot of you will disagree with me on this, but Destiny is greatness realized. This game has given my family of gamers a title that not only allows us all to play together, it is something that each one of us love and play daily.
Sure, there are some short comings with Destiny, but we keep doing the Bounty, Strike, Weekly, Nightfall, and Raid missions even if it's nothing more then rinse and repeat.
Throw in the facts that we pretty much have zero connection issues (this is huge) and the DLC is next week, things are pretty "great" around here!

I bought my PS4 4 months ago and I've played Knack, Infamous SS, Watch Dogs, Black Flag, CoD Advanced Warfare, Far Cry 4 and some indie games… maybe I don't know what greatness really is but i surely have been having a lot of fun.
Yeah, we got the best looking Multi Platform and HD remakes games. Nothing that blows the Xbox One out of the water. Waiting for 2015..To get the ball rolling..
Greatness is a strong word and in my opinion, one that neither next gen console has achieved at this point. Bloodborne, The Order and/or Uncharted 4 might bring the PS4 to greatness and Halo 5, Quantum Break, Rise of the Tomb Raider (albeit timed) might do it for Xbox One in 2015.
Time will tell.
Yes, totally agree, it will be here when Uncharted arrives on PS4.
yeah i know the games are coming thats why i got the ps4 and yeah we are still waitig but for the most part good things take time, so i'm happy to wait for the most part cos i have other games and things i can play and do in the mean time. but will be looking forward to them when they come
