Okay, so we're not talking stealth like Metal Gear Solid or Hitman but believe it or not, the new Battlefield has distinct stealth elements.
As detailed in GameSpot's preview , the upcoming Hardline features a slower, more methodical approach to modern combat.
Rather than running and gunning, you'll be using a scanner to mark and track enemies prior to engaging them, and you can perform non-lethal takedowns if you're cagey enough. Enemies will have an alert meter that will fill depending on their level of suspicion (a very common mechanic in pure stealth games), and you can even quietly handcuff enemies if you surprise them and whip out your badge.
Of course, once all hell breaks loose, it'll play much like a standard FPS. Still, to have this other dimension in a Battlefield entry is a definite breath of fresh air and immediately makes me more intrigued. How about you?

Duuuuuuuuude. This has risen up in my "interested" list of games for next year.
Thanks for mentioning this Ben this was the one thing that interested me about the game. They originally showed off the first level in , I think it was, a 20 minute gameplay video with commentary. At multiple parts they explained different ways they could go through each situation and even explained many missions have the option to play pure stealth without actually killing anyone.
The story mode looks like it could be the best part about this entry surprisingly enough.
'Battlefield' has been my go-to first-person shooter for some time now, but the addition of something like this certainly raises my interest.
well first off i wouldn't never have guessed bf hardline was a stealth game like MGS or spltinter cell wow okay sure whatever you say. and that sounds a little bit like the scanner nades on COD AW i saw this while my friend was playing throught hte campaign but okay i suppose this could be better
happy gaming
i might actually think about it rather than not
Is this the game that'll make me finally pick up the FPS genre? Worth checking out, I s'pose.
