Online-driven games almost always face at least a few problems when they first launch.
But Ubisoft believes their upcoming open-world racer, The Crew , is ready to go and the release will go smoothly.
In speaking to The Metropolist , lead developer Serkan Hasan said that several betas have helped them stress-test the game's online functionality:
"…we’ve reaped the benefits of a long term beta program, designed specifically to push our infrastructure as far as possible in real world situations, with thousands of players from all over the world playing the game at the same time."
Hasan added that any online game can face "potential issues" when it first arrives, but he hopes players "will be encouraged by our open approach." The Crew will release next week in North America and Europe on December 5; it'll be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Let's hope it doesn't have Driveclub -like issues right out of the gate…

This game has $30 price cut in 3-6 months time written all over it.
Funny, that, Ubisoft considering the final beta was still a sub-par racing game at best. If there's one thing I hate about something is the illusion of something. Like in the Walking Dead games you have an illusion of choice when it really doesn't exist. You choose between two characters and they are literally the same person with slightly different dialogue.
The Crew's beta makes you think the map is massive when in reality its just designated roads. It was just a beta though, so the real game might be different but all in all I think Ubisoft is full of nonsense. And as temujin so kindly wrote, it does have a 30$ price cut written all over it.
We'll see if the final product can prove that. As for now, i'm still not impressed.
Played the closed beta and it wasn't great. Controls didn't feel that great and well I just never got into it. Was hopeful but i've now decided not to get the game.
well i hope for everyones sake that this is true thye it will launch better than drive club and atleast the servers will work
happy gaming
