It's true that this week's Assassin's Creed Unity patch delivered over 300 fixes .
But really, those fixes shouldn't have been necessary and now, Ubisoft is apologetic. As an act of contrition and as revealed at the franchise's website , they'll offer the game's Dead Kings expansion as a free gift to all players.
That's included in the Season Pass and if you've already purchased it (or you got the Gold Edition, which includes it), you can choose one free game from the following list:
They're currently in the process of setting up a way to deliver this free game. Said Ubisoft Montreal and Toronto CEO Yannis Mallat:
"Unfortunately, at launch, the overall quality of the game was diminished by bugs and unexpected technical issues. I want to sincerely apologize on behalf of Ubisoft and the entire Assassin's Creed team. These problems took away from your enjoyment of the game, and kept many of you from experiencing the game at its fullest potential."
Ahahahaha. Over 300?! Are you serious?!
Bethesda games may be buggy, but at least not to this extent. What a mess Unity is. Its too bad they weren't given enough time to polish it and let it be the great game it was destined to be. The same can be said for any Ubisoft game this year.
I've been playing Assassins Creed Unity since it released and Ubisoft isn't anywhere close to taking the bug infested crown that Bethesda wears. The game isn't broken like people have been claiming.
It actually drops down to single digits in certain sections. Sad thing is, only the ps4 version suffers from this, the xbox one seems fine in the same area. It is places with no crowds either.
I havnt had a ton of issues. I mean I did fall through the ground at 2 spots in the game but other then that the few issues is had were:
Wrong names on Multiplayer
Issues with frame rate
thats it!
But I will take your freebee and continue to support
So they're contrite about releasing an unfinished product. My question is: Will they apply the lessons learned here in their future releases? Will they delay next year's Assassin's Creed if it isn't ready for release, as EA did for Battlefield: Hardline, or will they remain bullheaded in their release schedule in order to firm up their bottom line, even though consumers are losing faith in the quality of their products?
A nice gift, though.
Far cry 4 is pretty good. Not sure what happened here. This game has a horrible framerate in certain sections. Even going to single digits, this game shouldn't have come out the way it did. Clearly it needed a few more months.
All the last minute down scaling to run it on the xbone ruint it truly
Ubisoft sucks
This being Ubisoft, is there a difference between DLC and a game?
if you were truly sorry you would be putting things into place to make sure this does not happen again.
but we all know how that turns out, will be here next year same time same place reading the exact same apology about the next AC game.
An amazing gift I have to say.
The money they gained pushing AC before Christmass vs money they will loose giving free game and DLC. And customers trust on top of that.
Ask yourself Ubi – was it really worth it?
In gaming, people have incredibly short memories. It won't make a lick of difference.
great news 🙂
Way to cave in to cry babies ubisoft. This is why for now on any of your games i'll buy i'll wait a month to buy and i'll well also buy used.
hahaha… so contradictory.
i kinda wish i had brought the game just so i could get one of the other ones for free, but then i wasn'tgoing to get it anyway i hadn't saved enough for it
happy gaming
