Despite persisting rumors, it was never official. Until now.
The upcoming December issue of Game Informer features Just Cause 3 , which is in development at Avalanche Studios and will release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC some time next year.
It seems Game Informer editors had a chance to play it for a few hours, and they say the parachute and grapple mechanics are much better. There's even a new wing-suit, which ought to offer endless amounts of death-defying entertainment. As for the setting, this series typically utilizes a tropical backdrop and that's not entirely dissimilar to this: We'll be in the Mediterranean archipelago.
Hey, provided the controls are refined a lot , this could be the Just Cause adventure I've always wanted. The last ones just felt broken to me.

I loved Just Cause 2, I easily spend like 150 hours playing it and spending lots of time just roaming around with the parachute, I still sometimes play it for a couple of hours.
Hope this comes soon, can't wait for it.
Such awesome news. I put way too much time into JC2. By far the most fun I've had in an open world game. Sad to hear they aren't looking into MP for JC3. After putting well over 200hrs with the PS3 version I picked up the PC version so I could enjoy the modded multiplayer.

Oh, and I had no issue with grapling hook and parachute mechanics.
Was Just Cause heavy on the destruction option? Why is the destruction mechanic not more competitive. With Red Faction out of the game there really isn't much at. It just seems like there so much for to do with the it. Even more so with the current gen consoles.
well its sounds awsome,I loved Just Cause 2 sorry to copy but i love it too i put in like 45-75 hrs into that game at the start of the year when i was bored with the addtion of the mig suit man that adds even more hours os stuffing around to the game this just getst better and better not to mention that the core mechanics are getting polished thats awsome can't wait man this game is gunna be sick
