Rocksteady Shooting For Visual Parity For Arkham Knight

The question always lingers on the lips of gamers everywhere when they talk about an upcoming multiplatform game:

Will the graphics be different across platforms?

It's pretty common at the start of any new generation. The next developer to tackle the question is Rocksteady Studios and as they said in a recent livestream event , they're going for true visual parity across all platforms.

"We don't know yet. We're about six months away from going gold. So we don't know what the resolution and the frame rate's going to be yet. That's something that happens during the optimization phase of the game. We're aiming for parity across all platforms. Whatever it is, it's going to be awesome."

For the most part, multiplats on PlayStation 4 have fared better thus far, either having the edge in high-definition resolution or frames per second (or both). As time goes on, most expect the differences across platforms to diminish, but you never know…

Batman: Arkham Knight was originally slated to launch this holiday season but it has since been delayed. Its new release window is June 2015.

Well it's fair of him to say, Origins was the worst received and not made by Rocksteady.

I'm hoping that the characters are toned down. Really loved the games, but the extra muscular mass made it seem like Batman themed WWE characters…

That said, I doubt they'll squeeze out as much filtering through the xbone. It just doesn't have the gflops necessary for it. Especially with faster pace of things and intensified character modeling. There are computational limitations and, at this point, it's getting silly to expect optimization alone to carry out that burden… Unless they invest more resources on one platform than the other.

Oh sh*t, they're going to Ubisoft AK. Can't wait to see what the PC community has to say about it.
