Yeah, it helps when it's basically a requirement for most avid gamers.
As reported by GamesIndustry.biz , Sony is closing in on 8 million PlayStation Plus subscribers; the total currently sits at 7.9 million.
Sony didn't say how many of these subscribers are PlayStation 4 owners (there are 13.5 million PS4s out there, if you're wondering), but we're guessing it's a fair chunk. If you want to play games online with Sony's new console, you have to be a Plus member. This is different than last generation, when the PlayStation Network was free for all. However, Sony said it just wasn't feasible to continue that business model into the new generation and frankly, I don't doubt it.
Me, I've never regretted being a Plus member. The perks are very much worth it, as far as I'm concerned.
Being a Plus member is truly one of the best deals in gaming and I don't understand why people think its bad/ not worth it.
What I don't understand is how some don't understand that. It so totally depends on the amount of time you are going to spend on the box.
If you spend many hours each week and got plenty spare time to play games you'd not neccesarily buy just cause they are freely available, then sure. It's at least defendable.
Now, explain to me how the Plus club is one of the "best deals in gaming" for someone who wants to play Borderlands with a buddy maybe one or two times a month. That's it. But you need to explain it very slowly to me, cause I really do not think I will understand.
The Plus club is (should be) a club for the consumers out there that spend a LOT of time on the ps4.
The value in Plus comes from the Instant Game Collection. Even if you don't spend much time in multiplayer, you can easily get $50/year of entertainment from that. It's a better deal on PS3 because of the size of the available library but there have been some gems on PS4 as well.
I couldn't even say how many games I would have never tried I got from plus. So many of them were a lot of fun. That game dust is a good example. Didn't even know what it was. Had a lot of fun though. Plus has always been worth it to me.
Side note kind of annoyed the promised us drive club. The game clearly was not ready. Why even sell it how it was. Imagine if it had been a launch game. Really the first time I have been disappointed with plus.
I suspect a price increase anytime now.
Sadly November games are a dud again.
not into an 7 year old Batman game or Drive Cl… err scratch that =)
yeah no ps plus is good altough i only do for 3months atm cos i can't really do a 1 year atm i don't have enough time for at that comes with it
happy gaming
Which puts more onus on Sony on actually improving their network infrastructure. They need to step it up. There have been too many maintenances in the past 2 months.
But like everyone here I love my PS Plus subscription, I've had it for about 3 years now 🙂
