Turn Your PS4 Into A Portable Device With PlayBook 4

There's really only one problem with the PlayStation 4: It isn't portable.

But wait, what if it were? From the modder who brought you the Xbox One "Xbook" comes a similar invention, which self-taught engineer Ed Zarick calls the "PlayBook 4." Basically, he turned Sony's next-gen console into a laptop.

The interior of the PS4 resides inside a 3D-printed and laser-cut plastic case, and the unit boasts a 22" Vizio 1080p LED LCD display. Now, if you provide Zarick with a PS4 to use, the cost will be $1,095. If you don't and he has to pick one up, it'll cost you $1,395 (with an extra $50 for HDMI out). Shipping is locked at $75 for anywhere in the contiguous US (international is doable, but obviously extra), and if you want one, you have to fork over a $750 nonrefundable deposit.

Zarick says it takes about 2-3 weeks to finish a unit, and you can order it in a variety of colors. There's the standard black or white, and then there's yellow, blue, red, green, silver, orange, grey, purple, copper, and pink. Finally, he adds that he can do a "full graphic customization" but again, that's extra.

Oh, and if you hadn't guessed, you void the PS4's warranty by doing this, although Zarick does have his own personal 30-day guarantee. Pretty cool stuff.

Markus Munitions: "Feeling burdened with too much money?"

This would be neat, but unlike the XB1, PS4 owners already have a portable counter part to there mother console. Not too mention the 3DS and Shield.

I almost want Ben to get one just to see an unboxing and a review of the unit.
