Yeah, it's kind of a remake of a remake, although that isn't 100 percent accurate.
The Resident Evil Remake planned for consoles and PC is basically a high-definition version of 2002's REmake that released for the GameCube. But provided the legendary spirit of the original 1996 smash hit is intact, survival/horror aficionados should be happy.
Capcom has released more comparison media; there are new screens and a couple videos; one features Chris Redfield (pasted in below) and the other boasts Jill Valentine. We get to check out the dramatically improved graphics, which makes us appropriately excited for the new project.
The new remake is scheduled to release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC some time early next year.
What has happened to some of the great developers? SE is busy turning the FF series into a button masher and Capcom is so confused with the future of the RE series that they've decided to re-release a remake of the original RE. Oh wow it's now in HD…
I'd like to think the huge demand for the FFX HD release and the sure hit of this game would slap the obvious into these two companies. YOUR FANS PREFER THE ORIGINAL GAMEPLAY. STOP TRYING TO PLEASE EVERYONE.
FFDMC is gonna be awesome 😉
Er, yay for marginally better graphics in old games instead of updated on new ones?
Seriously, if I wasn't already aware that it was footage of the PS4 version I would have just assumed it was the GC version. I wouldn't be so annoyed with this being released if I felt Capcom was properly handling the RE franchise. I still haven't finished RE6.
It looks way better. The GameCube game is highly pixelated with blurry graphics. There is a huge difference between both versions.
Ahh the memories… I was really turned on when I heard about this HD release of my favorite RE title. But now when I look at it… I don't think I am going to force myself to play it for the 10th time, specially with so many great titles coming out next year. Sorry Capcom, just give me new RE with old style gameplay.
If they remake this game again I believe it will really make the horrible controls even more apparent by today's standards!
Also, why are they remaking Resident Evil Remake when they could do an arguably better game in Resident Evil 2?
Render the entire game in 3d instead of using still images that way we can eliminate the dreaded camera angle problems!!
That would cost money they won't spend.
Let me see if I get this:
They're remaking the Gamecube REmake of the original RE… and they're expecting me to pay for it? Why?
I still have my RE Director's Cut PSX copy, why would I purchase again the same damn game?
Can someone please explain Capcom's logic?
…
Why does it look almost exactly the same? I'm seriously not ok with this. I know you're hurting with money Capcom, but please put the budget into improving/recreating the glory days and partner up with companies who will pay the development costs. I would rather you guys survive as opposed to dying out.
You still haven't given me any new Onimushas.
Was excited until i saw some gameplay .I then told myself , damn i already played that game so many time .
If the change was the same from the ps1 version to the gamecube one , i would be all over it .So since it s only an hd reskin with nothing else new ( beside 2 new bsaa skin ), i ll pass until it goes way down in price sadly . Maybe if it s out in january before bloodborne and The order i might pick it up tho .

looks the sames as it does on Gamecube.. i have RE on Gamecube and the graphics are the same when i use an s-video cable..
No they don't -_-. GameCube is very pixelated, plus the graphics aren't as detailed.
It looks a bit better, and because crapcom can't make a good resident evil anymore ,i'm glad this comes to the ps4.
Lol , just looking at the above picture prove you wrong . Even 10 year after playing the gamecube version i can see the difference .Your either trolling or your near blind .
Just yesterday I was thinking of taking out my old GameCube to play this game but now I don't have to : )
It would be a lot greater to play a new NextGen remake of the same game though.
