Well, Activision has a deal for you: If you purchase a digital copy of the upcoming Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare for PS3 or Xbox 360, you'll get the PS4 or Xbox One version free of charge.
This is exactly what Activision did with Destiny , if you think you've heard this before. The publisher also offered a similar promotion deal last year for Call of Duty: Ghosts , but that required $10 for the upgrade. The only downside to this new promotion is that you have to buy the digital copy of the game, but don't forget that your PS3 or 360 version will still work after you've downloaded the PS4/Xbox One iteration…not that you'd care, probably.
For PlayStation fans, this title takes advantage of Cross Buy, and it's unclear if the same deal is in place for the Xbox One and 360 versions. Just remember that you can't change platforms if you want this deal to work; PS3 goes to PS4 and Xbox 360 to Xbox One, no exceptions. And don't forget that you can transfer your multiplayer stats and equipment, along with any downloadable content you've snagged.
There is a statute of limitations on the offer, however, as this promotion is only good up until March 31, 2015.

Oh golly, I will run right out and buy it twice so I can get it day one on both consoles! That way, there is no more debate on which versions I own since I shall own all and everything, ever.
Its cool that Activisions doing this though. It really is nice buying one game and being able to game with those online buddies who haven't upgraded yet, while also being able to play the game on your shiny new console.
I agree. Hopefully other publishers follow these footsteps.
Don't count on Activision, one of the worst out there.
Hmm..buy inflated digital PS3 version OR buy the cheaper retail PS4 version…
handy if you have the 2 machines in different rooms.
At least if you buy the PS4 version you get the PS3 as well. With Destiny those who preordered early on the PS4 got screwed as you had to buy the PS3 version first to get it on both machines.
