It's one of the first questions fans have when a new Call of Duty comes out: "How many maps does it have?"
And of course, they're interested in the immediately available maps, not the total number of maps that will eventually become available after multiple rounds of DLC.
Well, is a baker's dozen enough? Sledgehammer Games co-founder Michael Condrey confirmed via Twitter that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will launch with 13 multiplayer maps. Those who purchase any of the Collector's Editions or buy the Season Pass will get an extra map, Atlas Gorge, bringing their total to 14. Condrey also confirmed that the Emblem Editor will return; not only can you create and customize your emblem, but it will actually appear on your exoskeleton suit when playing.
If there aren't enough maps at the time of launch, the multiplayer appeal takes a serious hit. That certainly won't be the case for the new CoD, though.
Related Game(s): Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
That's a good amount of maps for launch.
Glad to see the return of the emblem editor.
I'm still iffy on this game though, after how bad ghosts was.
I had originally though Destiny would keep me from getting another COD game, but I prefer the MP of COD over the MP of Destiny.
Destiny has too much of a Halo MP PVP vibe for me, I mean I still enjoy it, but I dont spend as much time in the crucible as I do on the mission, and just spelunking through the caves and maps.

One of the devs need to experiment making a mmofps, make a public beta, tweak it here and their, that will be interesting new direction.
14? Every CoD in the past going back to the second one in 2006 has had 16. They better not release an extra map pack to make up the difference.
Ghost was terrible though, and this ones made by sledgehammer. Might wait for the new treyarch one next year. After the real IW disbanded they're the only CoD developer worth my money still.
Yeah pretty sure all of the call of dutys since modern warfare has had 14+ maps not counting the dlc ones at launch, this isn't really something that'd really positively help this game out
The amount of people that're going to be running around with some sort of penis of some sort on their exo-suit should be a bit funny though
The DLC is the big concern here, charging too much, Activision still has tons of left over money, can't they at least tell the devs to include all the DLC for free when it comes available.
