If you're wondering whether or not Dying Light will be worth the money, here's one piece of good news.
Developer Techland says their upcoming zombie game boasts "50+ hours of gameplay." The news comes with the release of a new Be the Zombie trailer.
Be the Zombie is an optional mode in Dying Light and it's self-explanatory. However, it sounds like you need to unlock it by pre-ordering, although it'll likely become available for all owners at some point. As the Night Hunter, you invade the games of other players and set out to eliminate them with a unique set of skills. Techland producer Tymon Smektala said this adds another "element of unpredictability:"
"The game is absolutely huge as it is, but to provide the ultimate zombie survival experience, we added an extra element of unpredictability to our nighttime gameplay. Online players can face the threat of a possible invasion of their game by the Night Hunter, an extremely powerful, human-controlled zombie mutation. These invasions are an inherent part of Dying Light, available on all platforms for all online players from day one."
And that 50 hours of gameplay will be a big draw, too. Dying Light is scheduled to release on January 27 in North America for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Sounds cool. Unfortunately so far I have hated other games that have implemented this type of feature in online play. While it's cool, and sounds neat. Ultimately for the player trying to do something it can be more of an annoyance than a pleasure.
Need for Speed had a feature like this. It was an app for phones where randomly someone using the app could take away your nitrous, or limit your abilities (among other things). While it sounds cool – when your trying to evade the cops in what is already an enormous challenge the higher wanted level you got – it became an annoyance.
So we'll see how it works out and under what circumstances this takes place. I don't know a whole lot about the game so if this is in a wave type setting cool. If it's in a sort of co-op campaign missions setting it could be crippling to the gameplay.
I've got my eye on this game, but I'm really hoping that it doesn't remind me of Dead Island. Could not enjoy that game.
your avatar is too big. If you don't change it I'll want to make mine big too.

I will (hopefully) be skipping this.
I really gotta break the habit of having fun, and going and buying the game only to enjoy around 8 hours or so of it.
It does look fun though.
I pre-ordered this bad boy and look forward to experiencing a sometimes 28 Days Later type action. I actually liked both Dead Islands too, and I look for this to be an improvement on those games by the same developer.
