Lords Of The Fallen Resolution Confirmed: 1080p On PS4

Another multiplatform game, another win for the PlayStation 4.

Well, it's not hugely significant unless you've got Eagle Vision, but Microsoft still has to be sick of these headlines by now.

CI Games' Tomasz Gop has confirmed to Videogamer that their upcoming action/RPG, Lords of the Fallen , will hit 1080p on Sony's console, while the Xbox One will only manage 900p.

Earlier this year, many sources hinted at this news, as the developer said that managing 1080p on Xbox One was proving "slightly tougher." Now, it's official but Gop did add that despite this minor difference, "there's nothing different [between the Xbox One and PS4 versions], I would say." As for the game's progress:

"It's really, really close [to completion]. Pretty much the only thing that we're doing is last minute fixes, but we've already been certified. We're already past the US certification for PlayStation."

This could end up being one of October's diamonds in the rough, especially if the designers at CI Games and Deck 13 deliver on all their promises. To learn more, check out our recent preview , in which we explain that the appropriately diligent will be justly rewarded during this dark adventure.

Hm…

This might be the game for me to play until Bloodborne launches. But I'm not entirely sure yet. I look forward to the review, and not for the number, but for everything else.

I wonder if MS's engineers will try to help it out to 1080p before release.
Diablo III was also set for 900p but MS's engineers requested to help them and they were able to pump it up to 1080.
But even then, DigitalFoundry showed footage during hectic gameplay where the XboxOne was dipping to about 50fps while PS4 maintained a solid 60fps.

That can always be done at a cost of framerate.
I imagine Lords of the Fallen will be 30fps on both PS4 and XB1.
If the XB1 version gets bumped up to 1080p, it'll suffer in the form of a framerate drop in high action moments. Some people don't mind the drop, but some go nuts when it happens…

The Xbox version has 180 less p! What a joke! Everyone knows the more p your game has, the better it is. I like my games completely covered in p.
