In an alternate reality set during the Industrial Revolution, one would expect some very creative weapons.
And that's exactly what we examine in Ready at Dawn's new developer diary for the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive, The Order: 1886 .
It's interesting to note that inventor Nikola Tesla will appear in the game to supply your team with weapons based on real, Victorian-Era technology. Obviously, there's a lot of creative license thrown in as well, but any basis in reality is quite intriguing. Said studio CEO and creative director Ru Weerasuriya:
"Because our Industrial Revolution is a result of the war between Humans and Half-Breeds, many of the inventions of our timeline are primarily focused on ways to aid in this fight. Guns such as the Carbine, the Coach Gun or the Maschinenpistole are common occurrence in the game and represent the technology of the era. While others based on electricity such as the Arc Gun, or based on alternate ammunition such as the Aluminum Iron Oxide of the Thermite Rifle, provide a way for us to use real technologies and materials of the times, while building weapons that did not exist."
There will be plenty of slick weapons on display in the game, and we're hoping for one of the most imaginative and effective arsenals anyone has ever seen. Yeah, our expectations are high.

Expectations are very low for this but that may be a blessing in disguise.
Maybe if I do the same I won't be as disappointed as I was with TLoU.
Thats still one of the biggest disappointments in my 32 years of gaming. Too many reviewers blew the experience WAY out of purportion.
Can't wait to get my hands on this beauty!
Good for Nikola Tesla, that's 2 video game appearances, a car company, and an episode of Ancient Aliens for him within a decade Wooooo!
World, David Bowie played Tesla in The Preastige in 2006 and he was great in it (the movie is from the same director of The Dark Knight, Inception).
sweet, love Bowie
it was super interesting and fascinating and i love it cos i'm and engineer(nearly, finishing my degree) and electrical stuff cos nikola tesla cos he really inspires me i look up to him cos hes the father of my profession and hes really remarkable but yeah no the weaponary history was really fascinating they definately worked really hard on this and i can apprciatie it. and i am still super pumped for the game looks sick i just hope i have enough cash for it next year.
happy gaming
Hmmmm, I am still on the fence about this game, I loved the e3 trailer as it was more suspenseful. I guess my main concern that it may just end up like Gears of War but in a different coat.
Cmon Ben, 2nd pool in the row that I cannot vote and also so similiar to the one "got ps4.."? 🙁 Creativity please?
