The Evil Within TGS 2014 Trailer: Say Hello To Your Foes

The enemies you will face here are nightmarish, and rightfully so.

The title is a dead giveaway: Freaks abound. Publisher Bethesda Softworks has released a new TGS 2014 trailer for the upcoming horror game, The Evil Within , and the video showcases some of the deranged monsters you'll see.

This isn't really about gameplay; it's more about introducing you to your future foes. Developed by Resident Evil guru Shinji Mikami and his Tango Gameworks studio, this game is bound to have an impact. Don't forget that as Mikami wanted to return to his survival/horror roots, this isn't an action game and therefore, not all these enemies can be killed by conventional methods. In fact, it's feasible that initially, they can't be killed at all.

Be prepared to use some strategy…if your fear doesn't manage to get the best of you. The Evil Within hits store shelves on October 14 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Nice trailer. I wonder if the level design is as artistic as is looks so far. Not pushing the graphical limits, but still looking good on the overall atmosphere front.

Stunning! I do prefer subtle horror like Silent Hill over the gore but I like the psychological bent here, the critters are nightmarish, and I never tire of an asylum setting. Plus I like this guy, he reminds me of Ronan O'Connor.

With elements of Resident Evil 1 and 4 in this, and feelings of the movies
Saw, Shining, and Session 9, I pre-ordered this and can't WAIT til it comes out
next month. Excellent article on this and Alien in this month's Game Informer in case anyone hasn't read it yet.
