So, it seems email invites for a closed Bloodborne alpha test have gone out.
But interestingly enough, it appears that only veterans of the Dark Souls games are being targeted. Check out the email as seen at Gamechup .
The requirements aren't clear but maybe you need a Platinum Trophy or something…? The first few lines of the invite are as follows: "Your skill and dedication have been recognised; you have been selected to join the exclusive Bloodborne Alpha Test!" The developer adds that this will be a "small-scale test" designed to gather community feedback and improve the game's online experience. And of course, if you come across any bugs or glitches, that's part of the experience; it's a test , remember?
Bloodborne is scheduled to launch exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on February 5, 2015.

Unfortunately I only beat Demon's Souls. I feel terrible that I haven't played Dark Souls for more than 3 hours and never tried Dark Souls II. I truly enjoy the games. However, there has always been something to pull me away. I am praying for a PS4 HD Remaster of DS1 and DS2. I guarantee a Bloodborne D1P though!
Day one purchase for me. The director of Dark Souls 1 and Demon souls is brilliant.
By next year I am going to need a really challenging game as I have beat Dark Souls 2 1 and a half times and beat Demons Souls again this year 😛
I didn't get invited into the alpha hopefully I get into the beta though 🙂
Now that's impressive!!!
Looking more and more like a write off every day sadly. Why just keep making the same kind of game and giving it a different name? Leave the pain to the Dark Souls franchise.
Saves me 60 bucks at least.
Well I think they are trying to make this more approachable with quicker combat.
This game looks like a big departure from the souls games. Dark and Demons souls had the same UI and were very similar in a lot of ways.
This is familiar in that certain design choices are the same but it looks like they are fixing some of the archaic design choices that even I didn't really care for.
I know how you feel towards this franchise though 😛
More than anything I'm concerned about them tailoring it to me. I wrote an article here that of course ruffled the Souls gamers:

I'm looking at it from a birds eye view too. What is the purpose of adding a PS4 exclusive that could potentially exclude most gamers at a time when PS4 really needs exclusives to keep their edge.
Even if it is just a more accessible Demon's Souls we must recall that while DS was more successful than it was though to become it also had to go multiplatform to be profitable.
So we'd be looking at another Souls series going multiplatform and a lost opportunity to do something new.

Last I checked, PS4 is outselling XBone 2 to 1. Sony doesn't need an accessible exclusive, Microsoft does… with a majority of gamers getting Destiny on Playstation, I'm willing to say that 2:1 ration will be 3:1 in September.
It needs exclusives, a dusty console won't stay popular. The Order and Driveclub might not do it. Uncharted is a ways off…
Bloodborne is so dark and smart it deserves to be playable.
I think you should give it a rent, gamefly it or something 🙂
I'm not sure what parts about the souls games you didn't like but some of the bad design parts that even fans agreed were well bad are getting looked at.
So maybe you will have a dark awesome game that is challenging that you can handle 🙂
I got an email, and i have never played those games.
Btw. Im from denmark. Scandinavia. European.
However the email dosent guarantee a spot in the alpha. I had to log in on the PS beta site and accept the therms, and then i am MAYBE getting a key.
Good luck… I mean that in every possible way it could be taken.
That's awesome. I hope I'll get an invite.
World, imma ready up a lynch mob and I'll be headed your way lol
well that interesting i don't know if that would make them as i haven't actually played anything like this before so i don't think i'll be involved haha =P
happy gaming
As a Souls veteran with 100âs of hour in all 3 Souls game, I am looking forwarded to Bloodborne.
This will most likely be a âDay One buyâ but we will see.
