Guess we're "ludicrous" then.
We just reviewed the newly released Destiny and we gave the game a 7.5. However, not everyone agrees with such an assessment.
While several major sites have scored it even lower, Ready at Dawn co-founder Andrea Pessino just doesn't understand these scores at all. As he said on Twitter , the idea that Bungie's new title could receive anything less than an 8 is just inconceivable:
He added that the game deserved an 8 based on "art and scope" alone but in my estimation, a game is a lot more than art and scope. I'll stick by my score with the disclaimer that Destiny can – and almost inevitably will – get better over time. I just expected more right out of the gate, that's all.

Like I have always said, everyone in the gaming community thinks they know more about game development than the developers themselves. Reviewers are the worst of the bunch.
Game development does not equal game quality. Critics are critics, developers are developers, no matter what the medium. Every movie, every portrait, every game has the creator stating how wonderful it is but there are just as many failures, maybe more, than there are true jewels. Do you buy every game that is promised to be great by the developer and their colleagues because they know more about the effort put into it than those that play and are supposed to enjoy the game?
I agree with that…
However you can't give a game an 8 because of art and scope. There's much more to a game and this one in questions fell a little short.
Akuma, I love your passion, but you aren't going to change people's minds that aren't enamored with the game. You may bring up good points, but that doesn't mean people will put in the game and go, oh, now I like it. Disappointing, but not gonna happen. I hope we're right in that it will only get better and those of us playing will like it even more!
When people talk about the story, I do stop and wonder what the hell the story is. With that being said, I am very happy with the game. I will admit though that, with a lack of games to play on it, I had been itching to play my ps4. So maybe that's part of it or maybe I truly like the game. Either way I'm happy. (the loot! Gotta get more loot!)
Stay Classy PSX…
The biggest problem I see w the game is u can only talk w ppl in our fire team which eliminates helping each other in the story if w randoms and teamwork in the team games as well as trash talk to the other team
i need to join a fireteam. a good one, got any openings?
I actually enjoy there being no 'trash talk'.
One on the things that ruins pvp in other games for me, generally with the language and quite often the lack of audio quality.
@Sassygirl… I agree. I've always wondered why developers don't adopt a 'proximity chat' feature in their games for this purpose. That way, you can hear/talk to randoms within a close radius, but always maintain chat within your own Fireteam.
It's definitely a mixed bag of opinions for this one. I know I can't get enough of Destiny. So I belong in the happier part of the bag =)

Me too, I just adore the game! Easy 9 out of 10 for me.
I just made it to Mars. Every place really looks so nice, begging to be explored. I should go to bed right now but I cant.
EDIT: I'm also really digging the alternate 'Blade Dancer' subclass for my character. He's now more of an up close and personal ninja. That's more my style.

That's cool! I am only level 14. I just finished up 8 Chamber of Night solo and that was difficult. I am now able to travel to Venus. But I am going to wait until I finish the other more difficult level 8 and the strike mission. I just received a new auto rifle 132 and fusion 132 along with a new torso armor and helmet that put my old gear to shame. So I will have an easier time with level 8.
I don't know anything about the sub classes. So reading what you said makes me very excited! Only 1 more level to go before I can dip into the Sub Classes!! Have fun!
Cool Crusader. If you need a firemate let me know. I'm Temjin001 on PSN.
Cool I will add u tomorrow. Have a good night!
reviewers are giving the game average scores cause it's just an average game ..
yeah i think thats the case across the board. and again i will not have anythig to add for awhile but i'll let you know when i do
happy gaming
Oh man how I love this guy's comments. It's like… Air!

Simple this game is over hyped average rated grabage just like watch_dogs was.
I wouldn't say inFAMOUS delivered on everything either.
(not directed at Ben or any other particular reviewer but rather the industry as a whole)
Reviews are like assholes…Let me know about the technical aspects: Does the game work, does it deliver the features promised, etc and keep your personal opinions to yourself. I will never be a Thomas the tank Engine fan but that doesn't mean a game for him might not be sound.
Reviewers presuming to know what the definition of "fun" is, and assuming we don't, are what ruins the credibility of media sites/mags/blogs/etc. Destiny is simply incredible it what it achieves and presents to consumers. If you were looking for the next "sliced bread" and didn't get it, maybe you should contribute something other than hot air.
Well said, couldn't agree more.
I think the more time you spend gaming, the less you care about reviews. There isn't a single person I trust when it comes to what is fun. Not Ben, not anyone. It's more amusing to just read what people think. With the ease of information regarding games, I make up my mind what I'm gonna play weeks, or months before a game drops. And I'm hardly ever wrong or salty about a game I bought. It's just that I know what I like and I can recognize something that I will find fun from watching gameplay videos and trailers. I also think it has to do with not being an obsessed gamer. I play the hell out of games I love, then I can go a month without playing another campaign or multiplayer. And during that time I might just game on something I can pick up and put down like, but just for 45 minutes a day or something.
I'm of the idea that people who spend 3-4 hours every day gaming end up being those type of people who complain about everything if a game doesn't satisfy them in the way they had hyped themselves for.
I just got my hands on Destiny today, and again, I was right about knowing I would like it. I agree with thinking reviews for such a game are ludicrous.
