The headset will be compatible with the game's singular audio mode and it'll retail for only $70, which isn't a bad deal, considering what it offers.
The headset boasts 7.1 virtual surround sound, support for custom audio modes created by developers, a retractable boom mic for voice chat, comfy breathable ear cushions, and in-line volume and mic controls. Now, it's not available quite yet – the official release date is "this fall" – but Sony will be selling an "extremely limited" Glacier White stereo headset starting today. It's a variation of the $100 Gold headset and it'll only be around as long as supplies last.

I'm not liking it. Looks much too simplistic and fragile. Not to mention it looks cheaply made too.
It's $70 for a surround sound headset with mic. I mean, come on.

It's mostly $70 because of Sony's brand name attached to it.
Take away the brand name and the headset is worth around $30 – $40.
I've not yet used a Sony product that hasn't produced a decent output relative to its price, and would be very surprised if this headset has the sound of a $30 headset.
My point was however that they had to skimp in on *something*. It sounds to me like you compare it to headsets of a much higher price – at least if we now assume the audio and mic are decent.

If it's like the last one it's not fragile.
What happened to the days of SOCOM headsets that used only one ear? I didnt put together a 2 thousand dollar sound system to have both ears covered by cheap chinese plastic. And yes, this is pretty ugly.

idk. I just know it's wireless to feed my brain and eyes harmful RF waves =p
It just seems cool to have a headset that works on PS3, Vita, and PS4 wirelessly
well i suppose its not a bad dead as my 7.1 PC head phones were 97 nzd which will probably be less than that so well its as good as you want it to be.

I like the Pulse i was using on the PS3 and thanks to a update i can use it on the PS4
