Ben-DutkaAfter Microsoft secured the timed exclusivity rights to Rise of the Tomb Raider , the Internet was in an uproar.
So, we wanted to ask our PlayStation fans if they're really pissed about the occurrence. As it turns out, while a fair percentage of participants in our latest poll obviously aren't happy, the majority don't really care that much.
Perhaps that's because they know the game will eventually come to the PlayStation 4 platform and when it does, it'll undoubtedly be the upgraded/definitive version. Of course, that means we'll have to wait a year or so, but it's not like we won't have anything to play. Regardless of all the delays we've seen in 2014, there's no shortage of titles on the horizon, that's for damn sure.
This week, if you already own the PlayStation 4, do you feel a little silly for buying it so early? Could you – or should you – have waited? Or are you perfectly happy with your purchase? Let us know.

Only problem is that asshats like me and LV would both probably say we're ladies.

It IS a tragedy, but PS gamers are level headed and know we will be able to wait. We also know SE is screwing themselves in the long run. We will get the best version after a certain amount of time and it will sell poorly at full price causing an early price drop. So we can treat it like a B level game basically.
I think this will put the franchise in jeopardy or kill it though. Hard for me to see but SE loves MS cash since they killed themselves by killing Final Fantasy and expecting bigger sales.
I mildly regret getting my PS4, it has been mostly useless and the games are all still available on PS3 except Second Son which was inFamous lite anyway. I have the PS4 versions of some great games but since they are cross gen it doesn't make much of a difference except the extra work in Tomb Raider DE is palpable. Might have been better to get a Destiny bundle.

As I sold my PS3 long time ago, I must disagree. Bought PS4 ~2 months ago and having a blast playing all the titles avaiable and think I wont have enough time to 100% them all. I don't regret buying PS4 one bit, but regret buying some titles (I:SS – boring and doesn't feel next-gen, BF4 – hoped for good multiplayer but it's nowhere near as good as in Bad Company 2).
Where I certainly agree with you is that best games are last gen games: MGS5, TR:DE, TloU, AC4:BF. And they look fantastic on PS4!

I definitely don't regret buying my PS4.
I have enjoyed gaming on it. Also, once a new-gen console is released, it is very hard for me to justify playing games on the old console. There just isn't a reason to. Kingdom Hearts 2.5 is the exception of course.
The upgraded graphics on cross-gen games is a good enough reason by itself to upgrade. I for one am not impressed at ALL by any of the graphics on console games for the past 5 years.
Even PC games don't impress me anymore. Crysis 2 was the last game to impress me (it still looks gorgeous), and it seems like Star Citizen is going to be the next one. I'd love to give that game a go, but you need a huge rig to power it, and also all the best ships are like $200?!

To me it's not so much it not being a tragedy but more in line that it's not a really big deal. We still don't know how long it'll be exclusive but knowing that playstation holds the majority of the fan base would SE really hold for as long as a half or full year? Even so we have so many other games Tomb Raider while great, isn't exactly a system seller type IMO.
I voted that I love the ps4 even tho I wish there could be more games. I'm just being reasonable because console is just starting out n great games n features are to come. Main reason is really because the system has been solid for me. It runs well n fast and I couldn't be happier with the 399 price so I don't feel like waiting would do any good. Only reason I'd wait is if the price is too high. I feel like 399 is a bargain for the years it's suppose to give me.
I bought my PS4 because my PS3 died and I took the bait to switch up and go "next-gen" early when I didn't really have to.
I really had no intention of buying a PS4 for some time. Honestly, in hindsight, I think I wouldn't have regretted just buying a new shiny PS3 to replace my old PS3 and have waited for the PS4 to drop in price. I hardly ever play my PS4 at the moment and when I do, those same games I play co-exist on other platforms (Injustice for example).
I will play it more once TLoU Remaster shows up by mail and Destiny lands….. which sadly those two games more or less co-exist on PS3.

Yeah but I think Destiny is going to be definitive on the PS4.
Also, there are more and more games coming out as next-gen exclusives. Like AC Unity for example.
I have no regrets WRT purchasing the PS4. It's a solid piece of tech that's provided me with many hours of great entertainment. It'll provide me with many, many more hours once Destiny finally comes out!
I told my XB1 loving friend who was reminding me that Tomb Raider was a timed exclusive, and this is what I replied to him.

As far as the PS4 goes, I am glad I bought it at launch even though my PS3 is getting heavy use with Ace Combat Infinity!
yeah i was really peed off to begin with but then when they said no you will get it on the ps4 just not for awhile i was like okay still anoiyed but i can wait.
