The new Silent Hill sorta stole the show when Sony displayed that freakish "P.T." trailer during their Gamescom briefing.
But don't forget that such a project is a ways off, and another hugely terrifying title is just on the horizon: Bethesda's The Evil Within .
In the works at developer Tango Gameworks, this game is guaranteed to put you on edge (at the very least). They showed off a full hour of gameplay via video stream at Gamescom, and it's well worth watching, provided you don't mind a few minor spoilers. I tend not to watch such long gameplay presentations because when I finally sit down to play it, the sensation is odd…it's a little like deja vu, in that I know I haven't played it but it feels like I have.
But if you're not like that at all, feast your eyes on this:
Related Game(s): The Evil Within
I'm not going to watch that long of a trailer because of the same reasons. At the same note, I think I can handle The Evil Within.
I'm glad it's 3rd person and not first person. Tired of that FPS crap (unless it's Far Cry).
I would argue that first person view in horror games actually increases the scare intensity.
P.T was pretty horrible. I watched someone play it on youtube and it still made me jump a few times.
In P.T. I got stuck at the spot where you're running, ack.
I'm not gonna spoil The Evil Within for myself though.

World, look for a hole that connects to a bathroom. The next 2 puzzles are far worse.
No i dont think I can handle an hour of The Evil Within and thats not due to wether its scary or not.
This game looks 2Spoopy5me.
Why yes, I believe so. If my 6 year old self could play Resident Evil for more than 30 minutes, I do believe I can handle this gem of a game.
yes……… come to me…………
so, so, SO, SOOOOOOOOOOO looking forward to this!
i just hope this gives you the true horror experience, ie plenty of suspense and also plenty of jump scares.
one thing i HATE about horror games these days, plenty of suspense but nothing to ease that suspense and make you relax than boom jump scare and your left changing your pants.
games are FAR too predictable these days!
