Well, here's your obligatory ultra-vague update for The Last Guardian .
Another industry trade show has come and gone, and still not a peep from the game that was originally announced back during E3 2009.
So, the next question would be, "Is it coming to the Tokyo Game Show next month?" The answer to that isn't surprising but it's not encouraging, either: No. That's the answer Eurogamer received from Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida. He would only elaborate as follows:
"When we are ready. I cannot confirm any timing because we are waiting for it to be in a state where we are happy that this is the game. We have a certain time frame in our mind (emphasis added), and the team is making great progress, but still not to the point that we can say that, 'here you go.'"
At least there's a "certain time frame." No idea what the time frame could be but let's hope we hear something before the end of the year. At the very least, Sony should just confirm that this is now a PlayStation 4 exclusive, as opposed to a PS3 exclusive. I mean, can't we at least get that super-obvious confirmation?

You guys' patience impresses me.
LOL
Didn't think there was an abundance of patience in what I wrote. 😉
Sony's patience should definitely be commended too. If this game releases and lives up to what now must be nigh insurmountable expectations…that would be something most special and amazing.
Ben, that you still write about this after all these years shows a patience much greater than what I'd do in that same situation. 🙂
The closer a game is the more I get excited. If there's no date for a game then I completely forget about the game. There are too many games to think about games that don't have a release date/quarter.

With all the great games releasing in the coming months and next year, I'm ok with being a little more patient.
Another Response is who cares any more this has taken way too long!!
Wow… I can't believe I actually forgot about this until now. Yeah… it's been that long.
Unfortunately the longer this takes to release the more probable that it will be a letdown. I hope that I am wrong.
I also believe that Sony will re-reveal TLG very strategically. Timing is everything.
This is going to suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
I think it. I just don't want to say it. :p
It's like saying it three times will make it come true… beetlej…..

This is a running joke now
"Please be excited for the next non-last guardian related piece of news"
I can honestly still see this releasing though. Look at both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Ico was originally planned to be a PS1 game and had already been built most of the way in an entirely different graphics engine when Team Ico realised this wasn't how they wanted their game to be and that they wanted it to be as amazing as it could and with the PS2 looming they decided to start over from scratch.
Then Shadow of the Colossus took almost 4 years with no restart once true development began but simply because the heads of Team Ico were such perfectionists.
So I really can still see this game releasing. It has only been 5 years.

well i guess we'll get it when it ready to be shown. but i'll be looking forward ot it.
happy gaming
right, so that means in another 7 years will finally see a teaser trailer than hear nothing about it for another few years straight!
i mean come the f*ck on, your telling me the games been in development since like 2005, almost A F*CKING DECADE!!! and its STILL not ready to show even ONE MINUTE of a gameplay video?!
after almost TEN YEARS of work!?
SERIOUSLY!?
this is a joke, RIGHT!?
not even f*cking DNF took this long to make, and that was remade like 6 different times, on multiple different game engines, from a team a minuscule size of $onys talent, on a team who was almost f*cking broke, AND battling legal lawsuits!
WTF is going on!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

My goodness, this really is the biggest joke in gaming history.
The last thing a development team should want to be compared to is the joke that Square Enix has become. Its a sad day. I actually don't care about this game anymore.
When will Sony/Team ICO read the writing on the wall about this – THIS HOLE FILLED SHIP HAS SAILED! Shoot this barley alive kicking/twitching dog and put it out of its misery!
