Gamescom 2014: Two In-Game Trailers For Battlefield: Hardline

Even though it isn't coming out this year, Battlefield: Hardline remains a popular topic of conversation.

And during EA's Gamescom briefing today, they released new gameplay footage that is bound to keep people talking.

The first batch is 12 minutes of single-player action, which Visceral Games general manager Steve Papoutsis showed off on stage. It's pretty damn cool and gives us reason to hope for an engaging, top-notch campaign. He says the game's narrative highlights Hardline 's "new style of storytelling" and we're hoping that's a good thing.

Papoutsis then revealed two new game modes for the multiplayer component: Hotwire and Rescue. The former has you chasing down enemies in a vehicle; you hang out windows and gun down the escaping perpetrators. Rescue is an eSports-themed mode, where five criminals take a hostage and the police attempt to rescue said hostage (there is only one hostage per round).

Battlefield: Hardline is now expected to hit store shelves some time early next year.

When ever I want to use small objects in life that are not in my hands I just stare at them for a few seconds until they appear on my person or in my hands…

Seriously why are so few FPSs that let you actually grab ammo and stuff like a normal person?

Graphics look pretty slick, but did anyone notice that if it wasn't dark and blue is was bland and gray? Still an easy out with the newer consoles.

If they put as much effort into the sound effects and graphics as they do to the story and pacing then I might consider this. Otherwise Far Cry has the upper hand.

I completely agree with you. I enjoyed the heck out of Far Cry 3. I felt like I literally lived on that island and getting attacked on land and in the water was very enjoyable.

I cannot wait to enjoy Far Cry 4 by myself. As fun as it may be to roam the island with friends, it takes away from the thrill of being attacked and feeling somewhat helpless.

Yeah the over pushed co-op with Destiny is one of the few key turn offs with the game.

Even the companions on Skyrim were a turn off. I had to turn Lydia down just to have some privacy 🙂

Far Cry 3 was double fun when I was in Western Canada with temps around -30 Celsius.

It's understandable to feel like you practically live in some of the well done open world games.
