Ever since it was originally announced, gamers have been begging for a closer look at From Software's PlayStation 4 exclusive, Bloodborne .
Well, here it is: Sony showed off an impressive two-minute trailer during their Gamescom press conference today, and it's full of eye-popping visuals and wonderfully detailed – and seriously frightening – monsters.
We also get a peek at the variety of weapons to which we'll have access. There are firearms and melee weapons like swords and scythes, and obviously, certain weapons are best used against certain enemies. The game appears to have a heavy emphasis on action, and this gameplay footage makes it seem like a blend of Darksiders and God of War . Of course, From Software is well-known for the critically acclaimed Demon's Souls and Dark Souls games, and you can sense that influence in Bloodborne .
So, what do you think?

Yes!
Holy Shit this feels so amazing when I watch it!
The Japanese PS4 Comeback is becoming a reality.
If that happens, it's PS2 all over again!!!
Here is hopping you are right on the mark 🙂
Looks great…very surprised nothing more shown about uncharted 4 at gamescom
I don't know about anyone else but I was very disappointed with both MS and Sony at Gamescom. Sony did not show any Uncharted footage at all and a limited trailer (no demo?) of The Order. Bloodborne looks like the real deal though. They did have a lot of Indie titles to show.
The best overall imo was Quantum Break and the announcement of Rise of Tomb Raider was great for MS. Nothing really new about Halo 5 or Project Spark which was disappointing. At least they showed a demo of Ori. The Evolve beta coming exclusive to Xbox is good.
Lastly, no release dates were given for any titles…
Bad move by square making tomb raider exclusive to X1… I have an X1 so it dont matter to me but considering the install base of PS4 doubles that of X1 then Square is going to lose out on a lot of sales… You'd think they'd learn from other companies mistakes like EA with Titanfall and Crytek with Ryse
Thats another thing that gets me mad about MS instead of putting that money into a new IP they rather buy a time exclusive deal which usually its a year at most bc i'm pretty sure tomb raider will make it to pc and ps4 at some point in the future so pretty much a waste of money
Sony's was stronger overall though.
Bloodborne, Order, Drive Club, LBP3, Tearaway, compelling indie titles, and first dibs on Hellblade packed much more of a punch in all fairness.
I do agree that Quantum Break was the best looking game shown, in terms of compelling gameplay and experience. At least to me anyway. There's still too much unknown about Order, gameplay-wise, for me to get too excited for it at the present moment outside of it being a really nicely produced title. Which, in and of itself, is still purchase worthy.
MS has just reinforced their commitment to being jerks by locking down something like Tomb Raider. It makes it so much easier to resist ever supporting MS again with my dollar. And while it's likely a timed exclusive, it would appear Splinter Cell Conviction was indefinitely locked down to 360, console-side. They too at that time cited Xbox and Splinter cell being made for each other……

I also have to say that by pissing off the PC community with the Tomb Raider thing is something you NEVER want to have happen. Principled PC gamers have a way of boycotting like no one else. They all but forced MS out of PC gaming by rejecting GFWL.

Sony won easily. New exclusive IPs galore are on the horizon:
Bloodborne, Wild, Driveclub, Hellblade, P.T., The Order: 1886, The Tomorrow Children, not to mention what's in the works at Quantic Dream (The Dark Sorcerer) and Guerrilla Games. That's in addition to Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, LittleBigPlanet 3, and the guaranteed emergence of a new Gran Turismo and God of War.
Xbox can have Rise of the Tomb Raider. It's basically all it'll have, anyway, outside of the new Halo.
my only real beef is the lack of anything significant for Vita.
@Ben…you did see Quantum Break correct? Best game of the show imo…nothing new for Uncharted and Quantic Dream was disappointing.
I was impressed with Sony's Indie titles as well.
"This is not a timed exclusive, but a genuine one, as confirmed by Crystal Dynamics head Darrell Gallagher on the Tomb Raider tumblr. "Our friends at Microsoft have always seen huge potential in Tomb Raider and have believed in our vision since our first unveil with them on their stage at E3 2011," he writes. "We know they will get behind this game more than any support we have had from them in the past – we believe this will be a step to really forging the Tomb Raider brand as one of the biggest in gaming, with the help, belief and backing of a major partner like Microsoft."
-Eurogamer
looks like it ain't timed…..
@Surfer Quantic Break is probably the best game shown at Gamescon but i think Sony had a better presentation Overall
@ Temjin I think Square and MS is trying to sell that this is a xbox only genuine exclusive but when you see how Phil Harrison was was saying it makes you think other wise… He said this a exclusive for 2015 and later on said "xbox one is the only platform you will be able to play the game on next year"… He keeps emphasizing that its exclusive for 2015…Maybe its just me but i really dont believe Square would lose out putting that game on sony platforms considering that the PS3 and PS4 sold more then xbox platforms by a large margin and like i said the Sony Fanbase right now is double that of MS… It would just be a really really stupid move by Square to make it exclusive
@Deathb4Dishonor: Yes, I agree actually but I was responding to Ben mentioning Xbox has nothing besides Halo and Rise of Tomb Raider…
I think Xbox had the best game in Quantum Break and the biggest surprise with Rise of Tomb Raider being exclusive but overall Sony probably won for all the indie titles. I still think both MS and Sony did not have great shows though.
I can't express how thrilled I am about this game.
Defintely looking forward to this one.
Hope they have the multiplayer similar to demon/dark souls that you can summon people in to help when things get too rough/time consuming!
yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes.
YES.
BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODBORNE!!!
Also to any of the peeps from previous Souls games, did any of you notice Chester was in the trailer? He was walking with his sniper crossbow with some other dudes.
Now hopefully we will see Patches/Pate!
I am pretty sure that is the Maiden in Black's voice from Demon's Souls fame at the end of the trailer also. "And so the nightly hunt begins."
Now that was atmospheric. Of course you can see the lineage of the Souls games, but Bloodborne is looking really amazing.
Oooooh Juicy, Juicy, Juicy info this was taken down off the Sony site, perhaps released too soon? But thank you Google cache!
TONS of info.
