The Last Tinker Reminds Us That Games Once Embraced Color

You know what we need more of in this industry? Color.

So many games these days are so ridiculously dark. So many grays, greens and a whole lot of black and brown.

Look at the games thus far this generation; games like Titanfall , inFamous: Second Son , Killzone: Shadow Fall , Dead Rising 3 , etc. All very dark and forbidding (with the exception of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag , which was wonderfully bright, comparatively speaking).

And what about platformers? Whatever happened to those? Well, LOOT Entertainment has a tonic to cure all these ills: The Last Tinker: City of Color , which was revealed over at the PlayStation Blog . The story involves an evil called "The Bleakness" and you have to combat it. Game mechanics include puzzles, fighting (with color as your weapon), and even some parkour elements.

Check out the trailer; I'm lovin' the look and feel. It'll launch on the PlayStation 4 on August 19.
