Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition Set For Next-Gen Systems

If you missed out before, you'll soon be able to remedy the situation.

It isn't official just yet but Amazon has apparently outed the Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition , which should release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 14.

This new version boasts all the downloadable content previously released, and the game has been "rebuilt specifically" for next-gen platforms. The only version on display at the online retailer is the $59.99 Limited Edition, which includes a special art book packaging that offers 28 pages of concept art. This is just another in a growing string of remakes, HD upgrades and definitive editions but hey, no reason to complain.

If you didn't read it before, check out our Sleeping Dogs review . It was a wicked fun game!

I hope the Crysis trilogy gets remaster treatment. I'm so impressed by Crysis 3 cranked on my PC. I honestly have to say it's the most impressive looking game I've ever played. It'd be neat having these games given proper PC-like representation on PS4. I say this because Crysis 3 on PS3 has such a muddy and dialed back presentation, not to mention a sub 30 frame rate.

I really wanna love Crysis but 2 is the only one I finished and I'm not getting into 3.

But it'd look shiny.

I gotta say the Crysis series is among my favorite when it comes to FPS. I just love the stealth/tactical and sci-fi blend of elements. Which is all amplified with the tech-forward prowess behind the experience.

I'd really like to see them beef up the trilogy and re-release them as a set.

which I know. I know. The popular thing is to hate on remasters right now. So bring on the downs!

but if you think about it. the distance between a remaster and a cross-gen port is pretty much only in the span of time between releases.

EDIT: The Tomb Raider DE remaster is the only version where it would seem the team actually did some pretty down-deep work to bring the game over to PS4. Everything else looks like your typical port stuff. By way of example, if ACIV Black Flag had released on PS3 first last year. Then the game ported to PS4 like in June of this year (looking and playing exactly as it does now on PS4) it would've been spit on as "just another remaster"

Really enjoyed Sleeping Dogs and I would probably treat it the same way I treated Tomb Raider DE by buying it when the price goes down a bit. I am surprised by the release date though. I know October has thinned out a bit but still. This would have been a perfect summer release. Sleeping Dogs may be going up against GTAV PS4 as well. Oh well, it's great to have options. I will look forward to playing this at some point.

Uh…. Really? Welp, everyone welcome yourselves for Lightning Returns, again trilogy on the next gen.

Good job Square. Enjoy that lawsuit from SNK.

I wouldn't ignore the possibility of a FFXIII trilogy that includes a post-game audio skit that upsets the whole previous plot (to use the word "plot" loosely).

This does not need it, but SE does want the money.

The game was fun, but I don't know if it's one I would buy again. Wait and see.

Rather see Sleeping Dogs 2 seeing as they could make that the game Sleeping Dogs was meant to be.

Sleeping Dogs was great and I think everyone should give it a shot but you can tell where Square cut corners and things were left out that had originally been planned to be in the game to simply get it out.

Hey least Square saved it so I won't complain.

Sleeping Dogs was a game I wasn't sure how I'd feel so I bought it on steam with all the dlc for $5 and I ended up loving it. Not sure that this next gen definitive edition would really make any difference though.

Yea lets keep supporting these remakes, that why we have them because of gamers saying stuff like( i will buy it at some put ) or ( i enjoyed the first time will enjoyed it again) c'mon people. I DID NOT BUY A PS4 FOR OLD WASHED UP PS3 GAMES…. this is indeed the the worst start to a new gen IMO…

We need more NEW titles for our PS4 not remakes sorry remastered ones,i'm getting sick of reading and hearing about old PS3 games getting remastered for the PS4,once i've played a game last gen or not i don't want to really play it again, even if i did i'd just play it on my PS3 and save a good few quid, simple. 😉
