Another week, another delay.
One of this year's potentially defining titles, Evolve , won't make its originally scheduled October 21 release date. Publisher 2K Games has delayed the promising title until February 10, 2015.
During an investor call (as cited by GameSpot ), 2K explained that they wanted to give developer Turtle Rock Studios ( Left 4 Dead ) more time to fine-tune and polish. Said 2K Games president Karl Slatoff:
"We are encouraged by the overwhelmingly positive response from press and fans, and believe by extending development by a few months, it will allow the team enough time to fully realize their creative vision for Evolve."
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick added that they've typically benefited from giving creative teams more time to work on titles and they've "never regretted it." He added that February 10 gives Evolve a less crowded release window, as October is pretty darn full. That's true but given all these delays, there's now also Batman: Arkham Knight and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt set for February, not to mention Battlefield: Hardline , which has a tentative "early 2015" date.
Still, at least the game doesn't have to battle Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare .

Batman is my lock for Feburary so everything and anything else in that month, and probably the next, will have to wait.
Same here.
You also forgot "anyone" in that list. This will be my birthday present either from myself or someone else and then the following sentence will be yelled…."Everyone out!"
Don't know how they figure it gives Evolve a less crowded release window. Spring is looking really cramped to me.
Looks like this will truly be Activision's year.

Please stop being hilarious. I can only laugh so hard before my sides start to hurt.
What game is more hyped than Destiny or more consistent than CoD being released this year, both Activision games? I know people hate reality checks when they don't fit their personal biases, but this be it, my man.
It's hard to think anything will outperform Destiny from a financial standpoint. I'm not sure CoD will be quite the killer it used to be, though, but I'm sure it'll still rock the sales tallies.
I expect Ubisoft to perform exceedingly well with Unity and the new one they just announced. Activision will top sales, as they always do, but at least they won't be the only successful player at the table.

Maybe they needed more time to cram in more Xbox exclusive stuff……
Destiny/Call of Duty factor
well thats good news for 2015 potentialy bad for 2014 but sounds good usually pubs just throw games out the door to get sales which can back fire badly EA i'm looking at you.
happy gaming
and another one bites the dust!
at this rate my frigging wiiu is going to get more use this year then my ps4!
I should hope so. It's coming up on finishing it's second year on the market.
irrelevant.
especially considering how few third party publishers are still supporting it, not to mention ninty has barely any first party studios compared to $ony!
This doesn't surprise me much as I ran into multiple crashing issues during the Alpha test over the weekend. It was a fun game, when I was able to play long enough, but I was never able to finish a complete hunt due to crashing.
They are scared of destiny and cod for sure .
Basically , the strikes in destiny alone offer as much content as the whole Evolve game .Yeah , you can easily guess i m not impressed by Evolve .It s l4d all over again , fun but still feel like you got rip off because of the lack of content for the price .
Maybe i m wrong , hopefully for those who care i am .
