And not in a good way.
Even though we really haven't seen that many remakes, remasters, and upgraded versions of older games, they're clearly a sore spot in the gaming community. I can't remember the last time I saw this much controversy over a title's release.
Now, recently, Sony has hinted at the possibility of an Uncharted Remastered project of some kind. I don't mind the idea at all, but I guarantee that if Sony announces such a title any time soon, forums and communities will just explode. I'm still trying to figure out exactly why they hate these products so much (although in truth, I don't really care), but there's a huge amount of venom out there. Now is not the time to poke the rattlesnake's lair.
Sony is already enduring a lot of flak for not producing a ton of AAA PlayStation 4 titles out of the gate (as if that ever happens, historically). So, my recommendation to them is to wait…wait until next year, perhaps after Bloodborne comes out, to reveal an Uncharted upgrade of some kind. I'd actually prefer an entire collection for the PS4, but I'm not sure that'll happen…
Just in case, I'm selling my collection of the games.
WHAT?! Why?
As much as I enjoy these remastered games I love having the original copies.
What good are they? It's not like they are Final Fantasy games or anything?
just don't take 'em to Gamestop. They'll likely only give you a few cents for each.
I'd list them as a complete trilogy on eBay.
I happened to find that I did in fact nab the F2P multiplayer edition of U3 from off of PSN (which triggers the single player add-on pack) back when it was up on the PSN store. I went to my download history, found it, downloaded it, and many GB's later I have U3 again. Granted it disgracefully says Uncharted 3 "Free to Play Edition" at the title screen. And if you're a self-respecting gamer, Uncharted and F2P should never be said together in one breath. Which pretty much means I should just hand in my gamer card right now out of disgrace =p

I forgive you Temjin. But I suppose in the end I don't think I can part with those games either, I'd only get about $30 and those physical objects do possess memories (especially Uncharted 2!)
I like knowing I still can play the 3 games at least. I won't offload U1 and U2 until after I get the remasters. After which the old games just become wasted shelf space for me.
I wouldn't mind having them to play on my PS4 but it would have to be the whole collection including Golden Abyss. If it's only 1 title, don't even bother.
I second that
Agreed.
Was going to say the exact same thing.
No thanks I'm tired of this remakes also Uncharted 1 was an awful game imo, I'm glad that didn't make me skip 2 and 3 who are awesome games.
Ben said Bloodborne. I'm so proud.
haha! You and Bloodborne 🙂
BNOOOOBOOOOOORNE!!!!
Nah I rather them use all resources on the new Uncharted. Make sure we don't have no 8 delays on the release.
Naughty Dog has only had to delay a game once and that was because Sony told them to wait, so i think we wont have to worry about a delay with U4
i kept the trilogy hoping to play them again on my PS3 while all the time knowing would likely never happen. But if this HD trilogy came out – along with a Mass Effect HD trilogy Id break my own legs for the excuse to stay home and play them on my PS4
I'd love to have remastered trilogies for Uncharted, Mass Effect and Arkham for PS4.
I wouldn't mind it. I just won't buy it. Just like the ps4 version of the last of us. Funny how that works. If you don't want it, don't buy it. Nothing is being forced. It's just an option in case you do want it. It's nice to see so many people here get this

I never saw what made the originals great in the first place, so it makes no difference to me whether they get remastered treatments or not.
For me personally it was by far because of the characters. I kept wanting to play the game to watch the story unfold and see the character interactions. It doesn't hurt that the visuals are amazing.
For me i was that the characters reacted naturally to their environments, something nobody but Assassin's Creed has yet done again. We still just walk straight at walls and bounce into them elsewhere.
For me, it was Sully's stache.
Uncharted 1 and Golden Abyss more than anything would benefit from a remastered treatment. I am salivating at the thought of bringing Golden Abyss to the big screen in Full HD since I never got the Vita. But as a fan of all things Uncharted, I would definitely want to have a remastered version of the series for my PS4 collection.
Side note: know what game, I believe, definitely needs to be remastered top to bottom? Resistance Fall of Men.
They should just name this site …… NDextreme. lol.
how come?
Because everyone on here is on ND d!CK everytime uncharted is even mentioned all you turn into girls lmao, never as someone said above do not know what made these games so great i the first place. most generic series to date IMHO…
For example? Keep in mind when you respond, the Uncharted series has had incredible critical acclaim and financial success. Also, you might want to remind yourselves that by your standards, many other studios are, as you so eloquently wrote in a feature length run-on, "on ND d!ck".

The games are great. Puzzles, platforming, rich environments to explore and examine, very little focus on shooting (which, to me, screams realism.), immersive cuts eyes, and incredible characters.
Valid rebuttal would include reasons other than "cuz".
The biggest problem for me is that games like Uncharted, which I loved by the way, are linear story focused experiences and if you already played them, it will not offer a new gameplay experience at all. Yes, it will look prettier and run more smoothly but not worth the money for me. I would rather spend my money on a new Uncharted or new IP.
I'd be ok with it as a collection a couple years into the PS4 lifetime. By then, there should be plenty of people who never got a chance to touch them, and those of us that did, we might want to give em another spin after that much time has passed.
Agreed
All uncharted did well was story and graphics, other then that gameplay and everything else generic, tomb raider with a dude lmfao.. i still love this series though just hate when you guys say its the best series of all last gen when its not..
Interesting…
What, in your opinion, is the best series?
Graphics and story are huge points needed to create a great game. Gameplay feltgreat also. Nothing about the series is similar to tomb raider. Unless finding hidden treasures and myths you could consider similar. However, after that they're two different games with very different gameplay
I personally wouldn't mind seeing a remastered version of the whole series, including Golden Abyss. The problem I do have and think others share is we didn't throw down money for a next gen system in order to play updated versions of last gen's games. We want new games or powered up sequels to games that won our hearts over. I agree with Ben that if Naughty Dog, Sony, or anyone else wants to do more remastering they should wait till a few more new releases show up first. I sold my PS3 version of Last of Us because I do desire the PS4 version, especially with the Left Behind dlc, but I don't want to do this for all my treasured games.
i say that's pretty much why there's so much backlash. Right now new console owners want new not old. remasters are nice and all but they need to happen once the new stuff is well entrenched.
PS3 actually had a stronger reason to be a PS3 gamer during the span of time from launch to the holiday season of the following year.
Check it:
Resistence FoM
Genji: Days of Blade (looked great. played like poop. but hey it's a counter for Knack…. but I don't know if Knack looked great…)
Motorstorm
Heavenly Sword
Folklore
Warhawk
Ratchet and Clank Future
Uncharted Drake's Fortune
….mostly NEW franchises and none of these co-existed on PS2.
Other notable, generational exclusives (for a set amount of time) with favorable reviews included Virtua Fighter 5 and Unreal Tournament 3.There's probably more but these come to mind right away.
Here's PS4's….
KZ SF
Knack
Infamous SS
LBP3 (also on PS3 and not by MM)
Drive Club
I left out any game that had a duplicate release on PS3, like their Baseball game.
I left out indie titles etc. or smaller sized games. And even if I didn't PS3 had Super Stardust HD, Calling All Cars, Flow, including that Gran Turismo HD demo thing.
PS4 has Transistor and Resogun.
And while the two lists aren't majorly different in size, they DO make a big difference while things feel so dry. What with TR: DE, TLoU, and GTA5 HD being very early examples of ports that are probably happening before they should've, compounded by a whole trough of trans-generational ports, I can totally understand the backlash.

@ underdog15 clearly your ND biggest cheerleader lol i never once said the series was bad, as i said many times before i really enjoy these games, BUT not the greatest game ever to be made by man… enough said, now please crawl under a rock and cry smh

You'll have to forgive me. When you wrote, "do not know what made these games so great i the first place. most generic series to date IMHO." I assumed you were not a fan of the games.
On the other hand, I never said you said they were bad. Actually, so far this discussion, I've made no comments on what my favorite games are, nor have i defended Naughty Dog. I've merely asked you pointed questions, some of which, I am awaiting answers to.

And to anwser your question i enjoyed the mass effect series so much more, just because iam more of a rpg sci fi kinda guy. Will i be stoned to death for that…
That's neat. Mass Effect is also a game that has achieved great critical acclaim, although I'm not sure it's an antithesis to your complaint about "generic" stories.
Why would you be stoned? At what point did I attack you?

generic in the sense that it did nothing that we did not see before. Its a good series but i believe that alot of other games that were so much better IMO did not get enough credit..heavy rain, enslaved, beyond two souls. Yes those games did have there spotlight at one point or another but they have been forgotten. Asfor story uncharted did good not great, IMO the game with the best story i have played last gen was dragon age origins, i have never felt so connected to the world or characters in a game like i have in that game truely up there on my list of best games last gen list….
I think my favorite story has been Ezio's life over the 3 games + Embers.
Anyways i will always ask myself why uncharted is treated like the holy grail of games when its not… and iam not the only one that feels this way…
Perhaps the better question, then, is why you are the only one that feels that way…
well if they are going to i'd wait definatly for shore but its not really certain if they will or not
happy gaming

I generally agree with this sentiment. Though I do not yet own a PS4, I have played all UC versions, except for GA. Would I be swayed to buy a PS4 if there were a remastered UC collection for PS4? If it had enough interesting extras, perhaps. I replay old games, in addition to multiplayer, and UC is no exception, so that would work for me. There is more to this than a hardcore-gamer-centric view.
This whole thread has been very narrow-focused on those who've already played UCx. We're probably not the first market considered for a re-release/remaster of UC on the new platform. If there are enough new gamers or converts from other platforms in the marketing numbers, it will be a done deal. UC sold so well (and don't forget was a PS3 exclusive) that Sony will not want to miss any new-to-the-platform buyers who've not yet played. How big is that number? I couldn't speculate, but I think we, who've owned and played them, can't forget this potential market. If it's big enough, it will get redone.
