For the most part, shooters are all about the multiplayer these days. In many instances, it feels like the single-player campaign is little more than an afterthought.
However, Dead Space developer Visceral Games aims to do something special with Battlefield: Hardline . In a new post at the Battlefield blog , creative director Ian Milham spoke about how the team used TV crime dramas as inspiration:
"Taking Battlefield into the world of cops and criminals gives us an opportunity to do something completely different than what's been done in the past, not only in the series but in the genre. When we look around the landscape of gaming these days, there are a lot of gravel-voiced super soldiers saving the world from domination. But that's not the world of cops and criminals, and that's not something we're interested in doing with Hardline.
Our world is more personal and relatable. There won't be any five-minute cut scenes where the evil general explains his super weapon in our game. Instead, we want to create the look, tone, and pace of our favorite TV crime dramas."
He added that Visceral plans to deliver a "different type of storytelling and a new tone" that's different from the rest of the FPS games out there. This would be a welcome change of pace because with the exception of a few shooters in recent memory, most have focused almost entirely on the multiplayer element. But hey, there are those of us who still enjoy single-player, believe it or not.

Co-op campaign similar to the movie "End Of Watch?" If you haven't watched it I'd say give it a watch. Kinda short but its a very real cop movie.
"(Insert shooter name here)'s Campaign Is "More Personal And Relatable", a regular yearly headline it would seem
