Sorry, no discount.
Earlier this year, Sony said it was considering the possibility of offering current The Last Of Us owners a discount on the new Remastered version.
Unfortunately, as Sony's Fred Dutton clarified over at the Euro PlayStation Blog , this isn't happening. "Alas, there is no upgrade discount," he said in the Comments section of the Blog. Sid Shuman had the same disappointing news on the North American PlayStation Blog, so that's that.
On the plus side, don't forget that Sony did announce a $10 price cut for The Last Of Us: Remastered ; it'll only cost $50 as opposed to the normal $60. This isn't your typical everyday upgrade, either, as the developers put a lot of effort into this project. 1080p and 60 frames per second throughout (you can stick with 30FPS, if you so desire ), all the previously available DLC, director and actor commentary, etc.
I'd say that's worth $50.

Boo-hoo.
Classic Sony move.
You mean like when you got a free PS3 to PS4 upgrade with FFXIV?
Glad I didn't buy a pS4 yet. Buy a next gen console to play last gen game. 2014 the year of remastered titles.
I dunno… I was just at Gamestop (EB here in Canada) and there seemed to be a lot more new games than remasters…
I think people are unrealistic.
Already played it twice, no interest in playing through it again. It looked amazing on PS3 but I got much more out of the story rather than the graphics.
