It has long since been embarrassing: Find a way to highlight sex in a headline, and you're guaranteed to get traffic.
It's true for just about any industry, but it appears to go double for video game journalism. …it's not exactly a testament to the growth of the industry, nor is it proving that gamers have actually matured.
It doesn't seem to matter what the story is, or even if it's accurate. Hell, it doesn't even have to be readable ; if you can get "naked," "nude," or "sex" into the topic headline somehow, you've automatically created a potentially super hot story. That story doesn't have to have any validity at all; I'm tempted to create a completely bogus article with a headline that puts sex at the forefront. That article wouldn't even have complete sentences and yet, it'll get attention.
I actually think it's getting worse. Sure, we all remember when the E3 booth babes were hot topics of conversation after each show. We also know that they often grabbed a fair amount of the attention; they would often steal the limelight away from big game announcements. But I figured this was temporary. I thought that with some more years behind us – and ideally, more maturity – we wouldn't be able to make a bunch of readers hyperventilate by posting a certain word or picture. I've heard naysayers say gamers are awkward and sexually repressed…we're not doing ourselves any favors, now are we?
As I read this, the ad below the story showed a scantily-clad woman with pouty lips and an Imperial Stormtrooper helmet. There's a certain rich irony there.
So very rich.
"Whore of the Orient"
O that's it clickbait Sex XD
Somehow I think this has to do with World's "Pick your next remaster" picture he used for the article. Not saying it does but the subject…
lol I thought so too, but I think I had a good reason. That game was my remaster game and the pic was a way to go nuts.
I thought you used it because your initials are "double D"
That's a supporting reason, get it… supporting?
Anal
Sick bastard…
Caesar, you're encouraging him.
Which is both a good thing and so very, very bad. (Which is good)

-ingus?
This article reminds me of all the game ads that feature busty lasses. I hope it never gets to the point where games are like movies, and things like 'the Great Escape' have trouble getting greenlit because there isn't a female lead…
no we aren't but people are still like this and i for one like to take another look to make sure i'm actually interesting in reading the article not just to see a pic of some hot babe or something i hope we can mature beyond that i know i a trying being honest i know we need to try harder
happy gaming
I know this may be faux pas around here, but I, personally, am a big fan of sex. No offence to those that aren't.
Sex good, games good. Why not combine?
My life would have been a million times greater if they had combined in real life. If only gaming were a natural aphrodisiac for women….

Does this article mean that Rumble Roses was not the best sport game ever made? 😀
Or that we all know, but won't admit, what needs to be done to REALLY push virtual reality into every home? 😉
