Is another current-gen game going next-gen?
Popular titles released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 are making their way to the new consoles; games like The Last Of Us and Grand Theft Auto V . Can we add Dark Souls II to the list?
A tipster has sent us a link to Tesco.com and as you can see, they're listing an Xbox One version of the well-received RPG. It's feasible that the publishers would like to tap into the expanding next-gen market, although this is hardly official. Personally, I'd rather wait for Bloodborne than play Dark Souls II on the PS4 but I might be in the minority on that.
The question is, do you want to see DSII on the PS4 and Xbox One? Would you buy it again if you already owned it for the PS3 or 360? If you haven't played the game yet, would you be more interested in playing it on a next-gen platform?
Related Game(s): Dark Souls II
I wouldn't buy it again. Getting the platinum was enough for me, Dark Souls 1 was better anyway.
The more I think about it, the more I dislike dark souls 2. The first was better in nearly every aspect.
Was Dark Souls 1 better than Demons Souls?
World–No bloody way.
I actually liked dark souls better than demon souls. I thought it played better and I thought the story had more going for it. I can understand if others think differently though
Jeepers.
we need to band together and put a stop to these remakes
it would seem so
The game is definitely better on the PC. It looks and I'm guessing plays better. People will jump ship and play it on the next-gen to get that experience too. I'm beyond done with the game though.
Make Demons and Dark Souls have HD remasters in 60fps/1080p and I'd buy that twice over. Or, I could wait for Broodborne. Or have all 3.
That was greed talking, but anyway its a great way for those who don't have much on the ps4 in terms of variety and also didn't play it on the ps3 to grab it for the next gen.
Oh, called it.
i would ceratinly be interested since i didn't get it on PC or ps3
happy gaming
Only if they have an upgrade program with save transfer.
Yea I've done everything I intend to with it so I wouldn't pick it up no matter how much I love these games.
You do realise there is a HUGE 3 part expansion coming out right?
To be frank, I own it on PS3 but have never touched it, specifically because of these rumors. I want so badly to play it, but if it comes out on PS4 and this has better textures and a more solid framerate….
Played it. Platinum'd it. Done with it. Bloodborne will be the focus. The only time i'll go back to Dark Souls 2 is when the DLC comes out for ps3.
I already beat it and got the plat so I wouldn't buy it again . If they ever released a demon souls hd remake I'd love to buy that.
Choice is always good. Dark Souls isn't my kind of game, but as long as there are enough people out there interested in buying it on current-gen to cover costs (which I'd expect to be pretty low, given that they'll be able to re-use a lot of the PC release material) then it's a win. It doesn't need to be good for us for it to be good :).
Hell no! However, release Dark Souls 1 and Demons Souls for the PS4 and I'll buy that!
Dark Souls 2 had far too many humanoid enemies in armour, the world design taken a humongous step back, the graphics are worse than the originals were, it's idea of 'challenge' is throwing more enemies at you at once… in contrast to something like the Archers in Anor Londo in DS1, that's two enemies here, only two, and they offer a nice amount of challenge, enemy placement is key, not enemy count-which comes across as poorly designed, lazy and unimaginative, and that sums up DS2 perfectly.
Poorly designed, lazy and unimaginative.
I'd buy it. Still I don't see it happening with Bloodborne being already announced. Maybe they put it as a placement for Bloodborne by mistake?
