Sony has announced a special custom-designed "Frozen" PlayStation 4, which will launch in Japan on July 16 for 42,980 yen (about $424). We don't know if the unique console will ever release in other territories.
"Frozen" has become the top-grossing animated film of all time, with over $1 billion in box office revenue alone, and it was #1 at the Japanese box office for sixteen straight weeks. It sat in the top slot until another Disney hit, "Maleficent," dethroned it. The special PS4 in question features a laser engraving of the "Frozen" heroines, Anna and Elsa, and a few pretty snowflakes. It's a slick unit, no doubt, but a game system made specially for a movie…?
Well, the two industries are becoming more alike with every passing day, so maybe it makes sense.
I haven't seen it or anything, but the artwork engraving is pretty awesome. I'd love to see more artwork done that way… and available outside Japan…
Oh My God. THIS gets a special PS4? People need to stop obsessing over this movie for Pete's sake. Video game related PS4s please.

My girlfriend has made me watch this more than once… and this is a thing? wHY IS THIS MOVIE SO BELOVED!?

It's basically the exact same story as The Lion King. It's got the perfect typical melodrama. Kids love that shite.
If you don't like it, you should stop watching it with the girlfriend… unless there's a guaranteed reward…
I watch Dancing with the Stars for the same reason.

Small girls probably aren't big PS4 buyers so it's bizarre given we don't even get basic colors.
Maybe it's becauseJapanese men are potential ps4 buyers right now and are known for having different tastes that we wouldn't identify with in America. That's my best guess anyway.

Fact remains… it's a strange choice for PS4.
its not really themed when the shiny removable part on the ps4 is the only part on the entire package thats themed.
anyone can get that part removed and have it etched, engraved, painted, whatever u want and call it so and so themed.
