Now this is what we like to see: A brand new IP that is described as an "ambitious fusion of genres."
Some gamers were unhappy when it was announced that Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel wouldn't be available on next-gen consoles. Well, maybe it was because developer Gearbox Software was working on something brand new.
The studio has announced Battleborn , a "first-person battle arena" game that is currently in the works for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The press release issued by 2K Games mentioned that "fusion of genres," and we also get a singularly styled visual presentation as well. Featuring a big collection of diverse heroes, players will participate in the co-op campaign and competitive multiplayer modes. Said Gearbox president Randy Pitchford:
"If Borderlands 2 is a shooter-looter, Battleborn is a hero-shooter. As a genre-fused, hobby-grade, co-operative and competitive FPS exploding with eye-popping style and an imaginative universe, Battleborn is the most ambitious video game that Gearbox has ever created."
2K Games president Christoph Hartmann added that "the size, scope and ambition of Battleborn are unlike any other title in 2K's history, and the result is a defining next-gen cooperative experience." Sounds great, but it also sounds like we won't get a single-player campaign, which immediately leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Oh well, that's not what people want nowadays, anyway.
Battleborn is slated to arrive during Take-Two Interactive's 2016 fiscal year, which ends on March 16, 2016.

"Co-op campaign"
Those identical words were used to describe Borderlands 2 – which I, and many others, played though solo. I wonder if that will be an option in this game as well?
It sure looks cool as hell!

I wonder too.
It looks cool but if I can't play the campaign by myself then no buy. Hopefully more info will be shared very soon.
I'm very interested in this. Perhaps this will finally be a moba-style game I fall for.
And the artwork is magnificent.

what a moba?
looks cool but as others have said i hope theres a way u can play it as single-player
I've never been a huge fan of Gearbox, but this looks amazing! Thought the lack of SP campaign could ruin it for me.
Dummies should have revealed this at E3.
Love the mechanical guy

Two words: Meh and Boooooring!!
"ambitious fusion of genres" sure, a fusion of the worst of genres, FPS multiplayer shooters, PvP & MOBAs is what it sounds like.. pretty much the opposite of anything I want in a game.
