Advanced Warfare Takes “Full Advantage” Of Next-Gen Power

If you think Sledgehammer Games is "misleading" you concerning the graphical presentation of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare , think again.

In a recent Official Xbox Magazine interview , studio co-founder Michael Condrey talks about how the team is taking "full advantage" of the available next-gen power. This isn't about pulling off some nifty parlor tricks in the trailers to make the game look better than it'll actually appear.

Said Condrey:

"We really have to thank Activision, not just for the extra year, but for the singular focus. Three years to get to next gen. The current gen game–and there's more news to come about that–never got in the way of our ambitions, it never stopped us from being super-creative about taking full advantage of the next-gen hardware."

Yes, this time around, the uber-popular CoD franchise is getting a three-year development cycle as opposed to two. That extra time should indeed give the developers a chance to tap into the excellent power of the new consoles. As for those current-gen iterations Condrey mentioned, they're in the works at Transformers developer High Moon Studios. This means Sledgehammer didn't have to develop all five games:

"It decoupled us from worrying about having to do a split-platform year, like titles had to last year. So that was really refreshing, and gave us some freedom to really go after this one."

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare lands on November 4 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

The E3 gameplay presentation definitely looked much better than the prior CoD standard.

And I'm taking full advantage of my 60$ and not buying this hunk of junk from the back of a methheads trunk.

Sorry about that.

they better not gimp the PS4 version in order to achieve parity with the less powerful Xbox One – if they choose to be Micro$oft's bitches beyond accepting their filthy lucre for early DLC – they risk alianating the majority of the market who own the premier gaming system.
